I see what you all are sayin, but when it comes to snipeing you don't wanna let your opponent know were you are cuz it can be a ***** tryin to quick aim at someone runin at you with a gun with your name on the bullet.
Then move! There should be more than one hotspot per map, you can switch between them and outsmart the other chap on the other side of the cables.

For anyone who plays FPS's like COD4/WW you are familiar with the kill cam. As most know kill cams show who killed you and how they did it from a rewind clip from thier view, (other wise the game is givin you a virtual middle finger as to how you died.) But it has come to my attention that the kill cam can be a very large threat to FPS gameing. Take the sniper, as a sniper myself my job is to find a high elevated area that I am able to see important areas of the map while staying as hidden as possible, and when I get there thats when the snipeing starts, but........ playing a game like COD4/WW were dead players get a kill cam greatly raises the risk of someone findin were you are and shovin a shotgun up your but. In Killzone 2 and Resistance 2 there no kill cam but it does snap to the person that killed you, (also givin you the finger) so again it raises the risk of some one goin to were your hidin and bum rush you.
I guess this is mainly for the snipers out there but do you think the kill cam gives an unnecessary "hey if you wanna know who killed you and were they are they are right here" advantage?

Edit:
yes I know I had ps3 titles on here and not 360 other than COD4/WW, so fanboys take it somewere eles.
That is why I love Kill Cams.
I always wanted them and now I can't stand games without them.
Campers and Snipers piss me off, but with the Kill Cam, the game's a little more even.

BTW: Real snipers relocate after a kill.
It's not always that easy. If your sniping people in a hot area the last thing on your mind is "oh well I killed someone better move some where eles." It's more like "hot damn lets see how many more people i can kill here."
By real snipers, I meant IRL.

As for seeing who else you can get in a row, feel free, if you wish. It is a risk that you can take and it may pay off, just know that I'll be hunting you specifically, until either you decide to move or it's done for you.

Snipers are balanced by sniper hunters, just as guys like me are balanced by snipers.

I can tell if we meet online we would be in a whole match on our own killin each other.

Is there ANY game other than the CoD series that has a real killcam?

I remember this exact same discussion when CoD1 was released, I also remember people agreeing with the fact that Killcam isn't unfair because the only disadvantage would be for a camper in games where you respawn.

Speaking on someone who has overcome the killcam, I know what you mean. I try to avoid staying in the same spot even in a non-illcam match because there are people who know where the sniper spots are anyway. But if you are in a killcam match, moving is still your best bet to stay alive. The reason why most campers camp is to stay alive while they rack up the kills. Find a system that works for you between hot spots and I can guarantee you're ratio will increase.

Plus, it's more rewarding to have to work for your kills. You'll find yourself getting a lot quicker on the draw if you change position as much as possible.

I think COD games are the only ones with the actualy kill cam but other games I said earlyer have a player snap kindda thing so it's kindda like a kill cam, in a way.

I think they're fun and fine for casual matches that are just for fun. But if you are playing more competetively and care about winning, then yes they're unfair. They reveal the enemy's position just for dying, not because you actually spotted it. And if you're the person doing the killing you don't want to have your position ruined just for doing your job and killing the enemy.

I've found that in general it doesn't matter because the opposing team will be to incompetent to listen to the shouts of their dead teammate and will continue to walk directly into my bullets. I suppose if your opponents were competent, it could be annoying, but I've yet to encounter this situation.

I see it like that to, but if you have ever played again a whole squad of snipers, THAT my friend is unfair to the max. Then kill cams will be your best friend in THAT given situation.

Killcam infuriates me to no end, but its also helpful. If its a snipe, I'm fine. But If I was just killed by a guy with Juggernaut after I unloaded my machine guns ammo on his ass, and then he knifes me, and I died.

its not unfair i mean, unless they know the map VERY well they wont nessasarly know where you are and besides you can always move after each kill and also when you fire the red dot on the mini-map will give you away.

Killcams are not only FAIR, they are ESSENTIAL to catch cheaters/hackers. Admins cant always watch every1. But you can usually tell w/ a killcam if some1's hacking (if they instantly pop to ur head and lock there, shoot you through walls even though youve been out of LoS for minutes and have UAV jammer, etc..) Then people can report them and admins can watch & ban them.

It's important in games like CoD4, because sometimes people blend into the environment so well that they could camp in one spot the entire game if they were so possessed.

Well yeah, in extreme cases like that it doesn't matter if you're using killcam, you deserve it for facing an entire team of snipers. After all, they're the ones being dicks and making things miserable for the other team.

Kill Cams have their ups and downs, but overall they are a good idea.

1. They combat camping. You get killed by someone you didn't see, then you can figure out where they are and chuck a grenade there to make sure they aren't still sitting there. This is especially true in CoD4 because people LOVE to camp corners.

2. They make camp sniping impossible. There is nothing in any game that takes less skill than finding a hill to lay on and snipe. Kill Cams force you to move after every kill, which is a good thing.

I've found an ingenious solution to your problem, play hardcore. it takes some getting used to if you transition from regular but if your favorite class is sniper hardcore is where you should be.
