Yes I Know HK-47 is not in the "who not to use poll" but there were only 8 slots and I figured he was the least likley to get voted out. If you feel he is the one to vote out put it in your post.

So I have started up KOTOR again an I come to you with a question what 2 characters should I make my main partners and who should I make my alt for when I want to/need to switch out skills?

Now I have beaten it before but I tend to take HK-47 because well he is HK-47 and a jedi. To help you I am running a pissed character that is going to the darkside due to a distrust of the jedi. She is willing to use the jedi for their powers but once she can she is going to tell the council where they can shove their lightsabers.

Then as she finds more and more info about what the jedi did to her, revan, ect she will turn darker.

I know some characters have fun conversations when put together see Carth and Mission.
So that info may change the characters you list, it may not.
So please list three characters 2 main and 1 alt.

Just a refresher for you who don?t want to look up names
Bastila (Jedi Queen)
Canderous (Mandalorian Badass)
Carth (Mopey good guy)
HK-47 (Meatbag killer)
Jolee (Ornery old man)
Juhani (Cat lady)
Mission (I?m not worthless)
T3-M4 (Beep-boop)
Zalbaar (Now lice free)

I can't think of a single character you 'should never use'.
are you trying to minmax or something? why? it's not necessary to beat the game. just enjoy it. use the characters you like.

Not trying to min max, but trying to find out what other characters people use and why. I know who I tend to stick to, but thats why I also asked for two characters for main partners and 1 for the alt for skill swaps or whatever.

I just want to take input and maybe change who I use this run. Who are your 3 top characters and why?

T3-M4. He provides pretty much nothing to the story once he's done his thing on Taris. He's pretty boring in combat as well. He's skillsy, but so is Mission. And Mission has dialogue on planets.

In KotOR II, oddly enough, he's pretty great. His default weapon can kill most droids in one or two shots, and it never runs out of ammo. And he's changed from a tin can devoid of personality to one full of secrets. He's the most "in the know" character in the game, possibly even more so than Kreia.

My top three characters for the game are: Jolee (duh), HK-47 (duh duh), and Canderous (duh duh duh [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hSwJ2rjUSdc]).

I usually used some combination of Zaalbar, Mission, Jolee, or HK-47. Mostly because they were my favorite characters. It depended on what I needed. I supplied the majority of the skills for the party, so I wasn't too worried about any puzzles I couldn't complete.

To get the most out of the game, play as a Scoundrel Jedi Counselor with Juhani and Jolee as your backup.

As a scoundrel, you will get all the extra skill points to unlock any pesky container or hack any terminal. Also, since the game is piss easy, having less health and feats makes it more challenging. You also become a god of death when mixed with the Counselor, since you get an obscene amount of Force Points. Powers like Stasis Field, Force Wave, Destroy Droid and Force Storm will be your number one killers.

Jolee is your second caster, and he should have maxed out healing, speed and valor. He will keep you alive.

Juhanic is your tanking character. She has high hitpoints, has the Force Jump ability, and can keep enemies tied up at a distance while you obliterate them with your force powers. She also has a stealth skill that lets her ambush for better criticals.

You will want to use dual lightsabers. Preferably, have one Lightsaber specced out to stun opponents and another to damage. When coupled with critical strike, you can stun opponents most of the time, and then finish them off with Force. With Force Speed, dual wielders with maxed out Flurry will have four attacks, easily overwhelming most enemies.

Holy crap, it's been AGES since I played the first KOTOR game.

As far as the 1 character you should NEVER use...as some other people have mentioned: there's no real "God this person SUCKS!" character, but if I had to pick my least used character, it would definitely be Mission. But really I just didn't like her personality. I'm a frickin' brainwashed Sith Lord, not a babysitter. :p

Force Jump was in the first game? I don't remember that...
Yeah, dual lightsabers is definitely the way to go, especially with the two unique crystals you can get late in the game. But that's if you want an "optimal build". You don't really need it to succeed. The only time it gets difficult is just from the sheer amount of enemy spam at the end. But it's actually more annoying than difficult then.

HK-47 should be in the party at all times for his dialogue chime ins. Use the other slot to compliment your character.

Yep. You just needed to be the Guardian Class and use a standard attack at long range. Instant force jump.

The best Saber build is the Upari and Sigil Crystals for sheer damage output. I'm pretty sure that the stunning saber uses a phondan(?) crystal.
