I've never been able to fanboy over a character.
Lee Everett of the Walking Dead was cool. I liked him and his backstory, but I was never interesting in delving deeper into it. Same goes for most video game characters I like, never bothered going into their stories deeper than the game shows.
But Krieg from Borderlands 2?
Daaamn.
Before I go into rant mode, I'll say this: If you have Borderlands 2 and not Krieg, get him.
I don't like him because he's OP - I don't like him just because he's funny (even though that is a big factor) - I like him because of his backstory, and personality.
The main stereotype of split personalities is a good guy with a bad side, yeah? Like Two-Face before both sides took over at the same time.
Krieg is a bad guy with a good side. He's the first character I stop to idle with, but not for the idle animations, for his idle speakings.
I'm beginning to remember... Stop it, keep the memories down with a knife in it's throat, slash it until it bleeds thought juice across the dirt and it's absorbed into nothingness...
He's a ridiculously badass, impressive, and actually pretty complex character (although the voice acting contributes to this).
But these are all my stupid opinions.
I'M A STUPID PERSON WITH STUPID OPINIONS
I'd like to hear your opinions.
also I finally made a poll yay
And with this, I part with a hearty I AM THE CONDUCTOR OF THE POOP TRAIN

I gotta say, I love him too. He's brilliantly characterised and really plays the "Man not in control of his own mind." deal really, really well. Also I love his "Good" voice, very...sombre? Yeah, let's go with that.

*Being revived.*
"Say thank you."
"NIPPLE SALAD"
"*Sighs* Close enough."

On the matter of him being OP, this game is nearly entirely PvE (Player Vs. Enemy) so how is that a Bad thing?

Sure, I like a Challenge and I enjoy my Melee Zer0 Build, but can you honestly say you enjoy dying over and over to enemies that can down you in less than a few hits? Besides, nearly every level 50 build is OP in a sense :p

As for the Character, It shows how much more effort went into this game over the first one, now that they knew it wasn't going to bomb.
After I'm done with my Zer0 Playthrough 3 and the last DLC, I might buy him and ride the Meat Bicycle myself :D

I would love to play as Krieg and would have happily done so had he been one of the release characters. However, I'm currently on my UVHM with Axton (ergo, third playthrough) and I have absolutely no desire to do yet an other playthrough of BL2 even if it's with a brand new character.

I'll just have to content myself with YouTube videos of Krieg's shenanigans.

His trailer was beautiful. I didn't know anything about his character apart from his appearance having not purchased him, so he went from an overly-muscly dude with an axe to something completely unique and meaningful. Sometimes I wish they would do more little skits with the Vault Hunters so we could have more of those moments.

One of the best things about him is his gameplay. They tried something completely different, and it works. Gaige is my favourite character mostly because if you invest in her Anarchy style you suddenly have to worry about completely different things than with other characters. I'm really liking how they are diversifying the playable classes more so now than with the first.

Agreed.

I'm currently running through a third play through with Salvador, and a second play through with Zero, and while I absolutely love the game, I really don't think I'll be able to convince my friends to go through yet another play through of the game with Krieg considering our lack of available free time.

Personally, I think Krieg fits the world of Borderlands way better than Zero, and would happily have played him as a release character.

So the clean sane voice is in game play as well?

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS.

I was worried it was only going to used in that scene they released.

I can tell this guy is going to be loaded with quotes. Just from the video..... "I'm going to put my pain into your soul."

He's metal as fuck. : D
