I'm sorry if there has been tons of threads similar to this one, but I'm really excited for this game, and I want to see if my fellow Escapists are as well.

So, what do you guys/gals think of L.A. Noire based on all of the trailers and info Rockstar has released so far?

I think it looks really good, and I hope it turns out to be a kick-ass game!

Sounds like there's too much being led around by the nose in it given that it's supposed to be about solving crimes, and despite all the talk about the amazing facial animations it looks like the full body animations are the same ones used back in GTA3.

The concept is still sounding appealing to me but the reality of what we've seen so far is far from compelling.

My friends are exploding with excitement.
All I see is GTA IV with no mindless murder of hookers and innocents.
Kinda like Red Dead Redemption was just GTA IV in the old west.
'Course I never really payed attention to the stories of those kinds of games anyway, just the gameplay. Oh well, not like my not buying will bankrupt them or anything.

You do realise its the exact opposite of GTA, a game where the investigation and solving of crimes are a key gameplay feature, not a mindless shootem' up.

I'm really looking forward to it. That facial animation definetly had me sold.

I'm just really afraid the murders are going to solved for you.
I'm not sure how to explain this.

Okay, in Yathzee's review of The World Ends With You, he is told ( in game) about a riddle and figures out it some shop. But then moments later he simply gets told the answer is the store.

I'm afraid this might do the same to me.
I want to solve the puzzles, I want to solve the murders.

Edit:
Also, strangeotron, for some reason, at first glace, your avatar looks like a Krogen.

I would shave myself with broken glass if I could play that game now. That's all I'll say.

I really look forward to it. People might complain about the replayability but I don't agree with that. It is just as replayable as Shutter Island (or any movie with a big plottwist) is re-watchable. I for one loved the mood and story of Red Dead Redemption and now I look forward to a similar experience in LA Noire.

I saw in a gameplay feature that you can actually fail the cases if you screw up. Not too sure if doing so leads to a game over or if it will affect the ending.

One of the few games that made my Pre-Order list. After Rockstar pulled out a masterpiece like Red Dead Redemption and I saw more and more details on this, I decided it was a one of a kind must play. :D

Looks like the modern day equivalent of a point and click adventure, struggling to see how its actually gonna be worth the £40.

But hey Ive been wrong before.

I would really love to play this game, it's just unfortunate it's not being released on PC.

In a point and click adventure, you are forced down a single path trying to work out ridiculous puzzles. If you get stuck, then you're stuck forever.

From what I gather of LA Noire, if you cock up a case then the game doesn't halt you progress but rather incorporates this into the ongoing story of the game.
