I really need to stop drinking. I thought you were talking about a procedure that lets your eyes shoot lasers LAZORZZ!

That would be so badass!

Probably not; my eyesight is bad, but not so bad as I can't kinda see things far away. And my dad had it and complains that, five or so years later now, he's gone from being nearsighted to being farsighted, which bugs the hell out of him.

I had it done. My vision was originally 20/650 or so meaning that without glasses I was all but helpless. After the surgery, I was able to see at "better" than 20/20, though depending upon the precise test this result can vary.

Keep in mind that the procedure is rarely covered by insurance as it is considered an elective surgery and is quite expensive (it was just about 3000 USD in my case). The doctor will be able to explain all the caveats attached to the procedure and it should be noted that the result is not permanent; the lens of the eye will still degenerate causing vision problems down the road.

Depends on the price. If I could afford it, I probably would. I don't want to have to wear glasses or contacts.

I wouldn't get it. But then again, I've worn glasses almost all my life. I feel more exposed and naked without them than I do being completely unclothed. Plus, I look better with glasses (someone told me once that my face was 'made to wear glasses'. I don't know exactly what that means).

I've had laser eye surgery and it was quick and easy. My face hurt a little as they use a big clamp to keep the eye open while they do it which puts pressure on the muscles around the eye but the eyes themselves didn't hurt at all. I was given some cool goggles to wear at night to stop me rubbing my eyes and after a few days they were fully healed up and have been great ever since. I looked terrible with glasses and although I don't quite have 20/20 vision, it was still well worth it in my opinion. :D
How's your night vision?
Pretty good too, not perfect but definitively no complaints.

I'm considering it, my vision's getting worse and worse.

Kinda worried about the risks though =/

I know someone who got it, and said it was the best decision he's made. He's also the type of guy who would watch the expendables and go home and fap at the shear 'manliness' that the movie contained.

Personally, I don't think I'd get it unless I knew the apocalypse was coming, because I wouldn't want to end up like the guy in that Twilight Zone episode - all the time in the world...

I just like wearing glasses. They're a nice complement to my head-suit 8)

Maybe, but my eyes are so dry my optician doesn't recommend it unless I'm prepared to use eyedrops the rest of my life.
Could be better tech will negate that, so we'll see.

I saw on tv that the surgery means sticking a giant needle in your eyes, so hell no. I'm staying with glasses. I know the surgery doesn't hurt, but still, seeing that needle coming right at you.... *cringes*

I'm not sure I can have the surgery due to nystagmus (involuntary eye movement), which sucks.
