Do you love or hate laugh tracks?

I personally dislike them. They're used usually on the terrible jokes and usually the ammount of laughter is innapropriate. Not to mention that I think a sitcom is often improved by having a live audience, plus it makes the laughter sound more natural.

I hate them. I find it a subtle insult the producers/director/editor/whoever it is thinks I need to get clued in when to laugh. It's part of the reason I like brittish comedy so much (other than the fact it is generally of a higher quality). Also it is just sad in many cases where you hear "gales of laughter" to a simple phrase like "you're an idiot".

First post ninja. I'm not a moron, I know when to laugh, telling me when to is patronising and annoying.....

I'd rather they weren't used to be honest, however I don't mind that much as long as they're not too noticeable.

Yeah I find them extremely irritating when it's used on stupid random comments. I can't remember if "Yes Dear" had them or not, but I do remember liking that show when I had tv. I'm actually not that into comedies and sitcoms, but when I watch one that isn't live, stupid laugh tracks just kill me.

Its not really ment as a "clue when to laugh" but you jugde a comedy on your amount of laughter, and though laughing is a social activity and signal you laugh less alone but more likely if you hear the laughter of others. Its nothing but psychology.
Its really anoying how its sometimes played at every single goddamn sentence said. But they wanna get the max-out of laughing for the viewer.

They annoy me intensely.

They're like the obnoxious kid at school who would tell jokes but stop every ten seconds to yell "oh my God and this next bit is so funny you're gonna die,"

If it's funny, we'll laugh, you don't need to sign post it.

I never notice. It's like the sound a woman talking.

I hate them because I don't need a que for when to laugh and they're almost always out of proportion, but I can overlook them if the show itself is good.
