dude take a deep breath, knowing valve it will likely be a wile before left 4 dead2 comes out and by then they'll probably have episode 3 out. once again knowing valve there will be more incentive than a few maps and new guns to buy the game.
I would have made Ep.3 first, then L4D2 straight after.
It's just not in the habit of Valve, but whatever. The more Valve the better.

This is really weird, I would have thought that they would have released an explanation pack for download and then some time after that go with the sequel. Well they are going to pay for this because it is going to be a low open sale for obvious reasons and hopefully will learn not to do this in the future.
Hopefully it won't become another Guitar Hero franchise... wasting your money on "new" games that could have just been expansions. The only improvement I see is the graphics, hopefully there's more.

Now, let's pretend for a second that people actually wanted a sequel this early; what new game mechanics do they have in store for us this time around? Nothing much.
We have new settings, new characters, new weapons and the ability to use melee weapons. It sounds more like an update to Left 4 Dead than an actual sequel.
(And let us not forget, they're probably really busy making Episode 3!)
And the title! Left "4" Dead "2"? From now on it should be a rule: you can only have ONE single digit number in the title of your game!
(Unless that game is Half Life 2: Episode 3, that would be okay!)
But I didn't make this thread just so I could rant about Left 4 Dead 2 (I'm writing a book for that), I made it so I could see what others think about it. Do you think it's a good idea? Thoughts? Questions? Random fanboy rage? Say it all with a comment

The HL2: eps are too short for me to give a damn about. i dont know why yall got your undies in a bunch over an hour long game when they're releasing a 4+(+replayablity) kickass zombie game with new game mechanics, levels, characters, story(?), weapons and super buff AI.
Plus, A GOD DAMN CHAINSAW!!! Hot hell inna handbasket, it also sounded like they had new guns! This is gonna be far more epic then the (dissapointing) HL2:eps.

Okay, I do like the additions that they've made to the formula. Like new weapons, melee weapons, new zombies (hopefully a few new special zombies as well), an improved A.I. director (and hopefully improved friendly AI... seriously what the fuck is it with them and grenades... or witches?), the new setting looks pretty cool, and the new characters could be interesting. But I don't think this should be a sequel, this should be an update for a DLC.
