I don't really need to explain too much to get into this topic. We know what's been going on with EA, as well as most other businesses. A question occurs to me... These business practices are generally not economically sound and driven towards only what I will dub 'The Big Score', the act of trying to reap massive profits at all cost which will skew any future balance easily. You may note that I've said before that this way of thinking isn't what they teach in college, and that it's counter-productive to business at large.

The question: Everyone knows this shit is wrong, so why aren't we dealing with it?

Sort of, we in general. When a very obviously stupid and wrong plan comes up, why the hell is it being allowed?

EDIT: Whoops. Poll got eaten. Very well, place your dollar value on the next item up for bids here in-post.

Because unfortunately there aren't any rules that tell them is shit is counter productive. In turn this means at to raise shareholder value they will do anything and everything that will make them money in the short term raising share holder value for the next quarterly report.

Same thing happened with the financial companies.

Because its there business and there free to run it however they like?

Just because you disagree with how you run things you can't change the business and how its run. You can apply pressures to it, angry letters, boycotts, etc. to try and get them to change how they act, but you can't directly affect them. If they want to run there company into the ground, so be it. There not (publicly) breaking any laws or doing anything illegal (that they aren't/haven't got sued for) so they're free to do what they like. You may think they suck but its still a free country.

We can't deal with it because while it is perhaps immoral it is not illegal.

People accept it because they don't understand why they should care and because EA does have a significant amount of established entertainment franchises on its leash.

Why the boardroom accepts it? They overestimate their own importance, there's probably a group of macho men thinking they're swinging their dicks around rather than digging their own graves. Thankfully I exist in the Paradox Entertainment bubble so I don't have to deal with the squabbles of any of you puny mortals.

Now if you'll excuse me I have to build more infantry.
