I love the casino. The lights, the lung killing smoke, the cries of people who've spent their last dollar. Yes, the casino is my current favorite place to go vacation.

I'm a blackjack player through and through. Give me $40 and I'll be entertained for a few hours. I love blackjack. I also like the thrill of slots. Even though it's all luck, slots are a fun way to lose or win money! Two people I went to the casino with hit a jackpot on slot machines!
So my Escapists, what is your favorite casino game? And/Or what have you won/lost the most money on?

Also, has anyone been to Vegas?

Roulette, I already know how to play and I like the sound and look of the wheel thingy spinning!
It's just so satisfying and colorful!
Just bet the smallest amount you're allowed to bet and watch it spin!

Poker for me also, Texas hold'em. I don't go to casinos (not sure if there is even one in this city) but I play it with friends, online etc occasionally. I don't really gamble either, I used to bet low amounts of money with my grandad when I played him at chess, dominoes and card games, but nothing more than like a fiver or something. I enjoy the game, not so much the winning of.

Blackjack's the only game i'm any good at out of those. Although I can play poker (texas hold'em i believe).

Hold 'em. Its what i'm best at and its generally the only rules people know, so I stick to that.

I do love me some vegas. Especially when the company pays for the trip. I tend to stick to blackjack and craps. While I'm crap at counting cards, I have a good understanding of the basic strategy for blackjack. Last time I was there I won 500 bucks on just blackjack. Craps is a lot of fun as everyone is sorta tied together. Great to play with friends but I only have the most basic of understanding of the game. Last time I played, I did well but it's not something I'd enjoy alone.

Russian Roulette.

...not the kind with a gun, I just like gambling with Russians. Man those guys like their drink...

Texas Hold'em. Not such a big fan of playing in Casinos because the other players there tend to be stuck up and don't like it if you play sneaky. Surely the point of the game is to take other peoples chips? I like to slow play and let people think I have nothing, especially when I have the nuts.

On one occassion I had 4 Aces on the flop, I check. Other guy has a full house, so bets out. I think about it for a second and flat call. Next card comes, again I check, he bets out more, again a flat call. River card, I bet out, he goes over the top, I say fair enough all in, he calls. When he saw I'd had 4 of a kind from the start he went absolutely mental, shouting and swearing that if you have a hand that good you're supposed to bet out. My reply of "Yeah but if I had, would I now have all your chips?" didn't go down well and he raged off. It wasn't a bad beat, I wasn't fishing with a lower hand, I had the power on that hand and used it to my advantage. Another player did say after the guy had gone that I'd played the perfect slow play so I felt a little better, I just can't be arsed to deal with ragers.

Back on topic, I do like to play a little Black Jack aswell.

Ohh, BlackJack, Roulette or the slots. I've been to a casino once, sadly not in Vegas though. Mucho fun if you don't waste away your money/get into debt/become an addict.

Blackjack, because it's the only one i'm actually sort of good at. All the other games just take all my money without giving me a soda.

Craps, because it's everyone against the house. The house may win, but you'll have a lot of fun in the process. It's one of the few casino games where positive outcomes for you are also positive outcomes for everyone else at the table.
