Poll: Let's Play

I searched, and nothing like this thread came up.

Well, I don't know how well the Escapist community is associated with the Let's Play community, so let me fill you all in.

A Let's Play is a recording of a game being played, with the player providing commentary, usually in the form of a witty banter.

I happen to have recently started a blind run- meaning I've never experienced the game before- of Metroid Fusion. Honestly, I shouldn't have used a Metroid title for a blind run.

So I ask you, fellow Escapists: Are you a Let's Player? Do you know any and would like to share? Do you think the whole idea is stupid?

I would make some, but I have no game-recording equipment.

I would love to as well, but I have that same limitation.

That said, the LP has to be done well for it to be entertaining. A Let's play is supposed to play through a game of choice while explaining what makes the game tick, in a sense, so the audience isn't lost as to why you can't just shoot that guy or what in the world that weird power-up is for. Some people forget that and just play through the game while saying surprisingly little - or worse, doing nothing but rehashing old jokes and bogging the whole thing down with terrible memes.

i'm not really bothered as i wouldn't be able to make them anyway. the odd one is good, but from the several i've seen i've never been that impressed so i dunno.
