I'm playing through Bioshock currently, and I find myself constantly looking out the windows thinking, "Man, that's awesome!"

That and the technology around got me thinking about how awesome it would be to live in Rapture.

Who else would just love to live there?

I mean if it weren't for the crazed splicers etc. Like if it were still a flourishing city.

I thought the whole point was that the technology had caused the splicers... I didn't finish it, it got kinda repetitive and boring for me.

Yes. Any city that mass produces chemicals that let you shoot lightning from your hand is good for me.

I loved Bioshock - It has a very unique atmosphere i must say. Id want to live there before the whole revolution thing, but not after.

Assuming it were not the Objectivist haven it was for a time in the game, yes, I'd live there. Of course, without the objectivissm, it's not Rapture.

The idea of being underwater is sort of unappealing to me. If the shit hits the fan, nowhere to go. And leaks are a very large problem. Also, no front yard.

It's underwater, full of Ayn Rand objectivists, and the economy is made of capitalism. What isn't there to love? Just remove the plasmids so madness doesn't go loose and I'll be it's #1 citizen.

Provided there is no civil war or Splicers then yes, without question I would descend to Rapture. The music, the architecture, the atmosphere and general theme of it is a beautiful world brimming with the charms of the thirties... in other words, my kind of city.

It's NOT like a normal city, because you can't just get out to visit your family, go to an amusement park/sports match/museum/whatever or go outside.

It's a cramped, smal, confined village more like.
Where'd you go to amuse yourself, meet NEW people or relax?
The outside view is the same every day also.

I mean, it's super awesome in a game and run around killing splicers and stuff.
But do you really think you'd like it after a week there? A month? Many years?

Seriously not!

If Ryan wasn't ultra paranoid about contact with the surface, than yes. It'd be great to live in an underwater, art deco-inspired city with a free market, but if you never get the chance to see the sun, then the novelty of living underwater fades quickly.
