So lets imagine for a minute, that your closest friend, lover, faimly member, has a horrible acctident. One that left him/her brian dead and in a hospital bed for the rest of thier life. And YOU and only YOU had the power to pull the plug. Would you?

Would you end the persons life that is closesst to you, would you snuff it out? And go throught the rest of your life knowing that it was you who made the desciion weather or not to pull the plug.

Or would not pull the plug and let the person body stay their untill the funtions of the body grow old and die. Never again enjoying the thing that make life living, never haveing a thought again, just a body and a face there for how ever long the live.

SO what is it? Life or Death?

What would you want that person to do for you? Would you want to LIVE or DIE?

Me, I want to be kept alive, and use my body as a factory for blood and bone marrow, and all that sorts of stuff. I want to live so I can help.

I wouldn't want to be left like that, having all those machines hooked up to me. It seem so unnatural, and I would want the person who I cared most for living like that either. I dont see it as living, I see it as existing

If they were brain dead, without a chance of coming back I'd pull the plug. No use wasting more resources keeping someone alive who will contribute nothing positive to anyone for the rest of their life.

Since you're saying that said person WILL be braindead (or briandead, heh) for the rest of their life, I'm going to have to pull le plug. If there was some hope, maybe I'd wait but...you can almost attribute comatosing to inhuman suffering. If it was a lover, I'd be twice as mindful of this. Give her a final kiss and switch the machine off...because I know what happens to the brain after enough time in that state. It turns to jelly. If someone you love is irretrievably comotose, you have to set them free.

Depends on what he wishes in his will, but if up to me death, I would also hope he would do the same for me.

If someone is brain dead. Than they are completely dead. The body is just a machine that runs a persons mind. It can be equated to a computer and its OS. A computer without an OS is just a pile of hot wires.

I'd pull the plug. And if someone kept me alive on machines like that, i would start believing in the afterlife, then i'd come back as a ghost and terrorize the shit out of them until they let me die.

Brain dead is basically dead but with that juicy heart going to waste. Might as well pull the plug and save some unlucky person with failing organs.

EDIT: Oh! And donate the brain to science! Everyone loves science... well... most everyone.

Letting the husk of what was once a human is cruel. Their conscious has died, and so have they.

It's like a robot now. Just going through what it's told to do, no thinking and whatnot.

i would first contemplate how bored i would be if i was the one on the bed. then i would pull the plug. it would be the wrong plug however and i would in-advertantly kill the guy on the other bed. however, then i would scream demon, run out of the room and smash through the 4th story window onto a moving train. this train would have mafia members filling the car planning to rob the hospital of all its medical maraju-wa-wa. so i would have to stop them with a combanation of advanced robotics and martial arts. afterwords the president would declare me a hero of the united states and use thier military lazers to put my face on the moon.

If the person was garunteed to be braindead for the rest of their life, then yes. If there was a chance that they would recover, and it would have to be a good chance, then I would wait. But otherwise I would let them go.

I would pull the plug, better that they die young on their feet than old on their knees...in a pile of poo after their diaper overflowed.

the flame of life is but a small one, and can be extinguished without a blow or a wave. I have an uncle, he was hit by a truck. he survived. but, his flame has gone out, his flame may never light another room or another face. many other flames will never again be lit, never again know humanity. if you are kept on a machine, you are a machine, your flame is gone, your flame will never be relight.

I have no idea what "Brian Dead" is but it sounds like a disease that only targets men with a specific name

Well, they are already kinda dead as in not interacting with anything or anyone anymore, so yeah, I'd pull the plug.
Then go into a rambling speech about wrong and right.
Then drown myself in vodka.

If there was no hope, I'd definitely pull the plug.

I would HATE to be left in a state of limbo like that. If I become brain-dead, I want that to be the end of me.

I don't care how much it hurts anyone else to let them die, but its just cruel to continue their life beyond what it was meant to.
