Poll: Live Action Trailers?

I just watched this live action trailer for Wet. It got me thinking about live action trailers in general.


Live action trailers such as this one are rarely seen these days. They were extremely popular during the N64 era, but today the focus has shifted more to the "show us gameplay footage" side.

That said, what do you think about live action trailers? Do you like them? Do you hate them? Why?

I've always loved the live action scense in C&C. They are cheesy and fun. Even if the costumes they wear just look like bad cosplay.

I love live action trailers, but i do also like to see in game footage, so i think there should be both available for a game. As Internutt says, the live action FMV's in C&C are epic

I would call them commercials rather than trailers. And I don't like commercials. At least with gameplay trailers you can get an idea of whether the game will be good, rather than seeing how much money the publisher invested into a commercial.

Can I have a yes, but not this one option. I don't like (most) musicals and this one wasn't an exception, plus I have no clue what the hell this game is about (from the trailer alone).

Im not a fan of them, but they dont annoy me as much as live action cut-scenes.

I prefer game footage so I can actually try and see some of what I might be buying.

The Halo 3 ones were awesome.

Spoiler: Halo: Landfall was indeed awesome.

There was also all those "Believe" ads. The thing I always thought was really neat was that these weren't just ads but canonical story material also.
