So new games are coming out. This will always be true so long as there are happiness and electronics in the world. When a game you care aboot is coming out, how do you deal with information on it?
This thread was inspired by a Metroid: Other M gameplay thing that I didn't want to see because it would ruin the air of mystery and whatnot.

Aboot!

I tend to form an opinion when I play but take in others opinions as well.

Calumon: I watch a trailer.

I'm on a budget. Also, I love feeling "in the know". I'm that friend who shares bits of upcoming games from youtube on facebook and know the developers, their pedigree and so many other things about the game.

I rarely buy a dud.

Unfortunately I have to look at every single thing out there about a game. I like this most of the time, but I have spoiled many games for myself out of curiosity.

Information is power, so I tend to look at as much material as possible to read and view to get a good understanding of whether or not I would like a game. At times I jump in and hope for the best.

It depends who is making it, what genre it is, and how interested I am in the general concept.
For example, a game like Starcraft 2 I didn't need any info, but for games that are coming out like Rage, or games that came out like Borderlands, I needed to look into them before making a purchase.

I watch a trailer here and there, but otherwise I try to form my own opinion. That usually means buying and playing any game that seems interesting. Ah well, it works for me.

I just watch the trailer and decide from that. Only works to a certain point though. From there on I just flip a coin if I can't decide.

Well I have decided to go dark on Halo Reach. Up until yesterday, I have been looking at information on it, trailers, dev vids, articles etc. But now I want as much of the game to be new to me. Thet means no more going on Bungie.net or clicking Halo Reach Videos on Youtube just incase there are...
