completely agreed sir, halo 2 i put more into that multiplayer than any other game to this day i think, and h4 was impressive story wise, was just wayyyyy too fucking short and some of the guns were fucking pee shooters, i mean it takes half of a clip to the head of a grunt to take it down? horseshit, give me my super guns!!!Gindil said:That O*%*&$ Pistol still pisses me off about H1.Monkeyman8 said:*stamps approval* Fast combat, great AI, interesting characters, and exploitable ass mechanics. (hog launching anyone?) the only thing they changed in the sequels was graphics (only thing that didn't fuck with the game)ToonLink said:*puts the flame shield up* Halo 1 is the one and ONLY halo i will EVER play. And only the Halo 1 for the PC cause it had awesome mods, and multiplayer.
Here's my issue with the series. I am huge on the story to take the game to further heights. H1 started great, until you had ~5 levels of Flood that extended playability artificially...
H2 would have been great, if I didn't beat the &%$$ thing in 1 day and a horrible, HORRIBLE cliffhanger that felt like a kick in the groin when I had to wait for another year for the next one.
H3 felt like a return to H1 era. You kicked ass, took names, you had an Arbiter and a plasma sword. The game was pretty well done.
H4 (ODST) really impressed me with the focus on the human element of a Halo story. Sadly, I only watched a playthrough, didn't play. Regardless, it seems to be an interesting game.
I can't consider Halo Wars as part of Halo... Reason being is that although it does fairly well as a standalone game, I just don't feel that an RTS carries the Halo mythos well.
personally i love the halo story, after reading hte books it made me love the games even more
