I once lost faith in humanity.

And then, one day, my school held a mini parade for our Special Olympics Basketball team. And everybody was genuinely cheering for them, genuinely caring for these people.

A bunch of high school teenagers.

Pot-smoking, Halo-playing, lady-licking teenagers. We're not as fucked as you seem to think. There is still a good side to the human race.

I once sat on a street corner for 6 hours watching everyone that passed. I do believe there are good people, but not enough to give me hope. But then again, who am I to judge anyone? What I may view as a problem to society may be the very same thing that keeps it going, and other times I may be really right in wanting to kick a few 'tards in the beanbags. Alright, By the logic that most of of you present there is no hope for humanity because the stupid people to far outnumber the smart ones. But did you ever consider what would happen if there were no stupid people? What would be there to drive the smart people? Nothing. If there were no stupid people there would be no smart people. No black so no white! Everything requires contrast. The human human race would have stopped before it even started. But perhaps one of you is thinking "What if there were more smart people than stupid people?" well then in all likelihood the stupid people would die out presenting us with the first problem. Maybe on of you will point out "Then by your logic there must be people who have no faith in humanity!" and I will reply "Yes smartass that IS what I mean!" but if you do say that then there was no point in you reading this. This for the people who still have a little hope in humanity in all hopes that they aren't quitters like most of the people who give up before the games over!

I've lost faith in humanity but still manage to retain my faith in a dwindling number of people.

Funnily enough I'd fucking look forward to the world becoming one big red light district, there'd be a lot more love for everyone! Isn't that just what the world needs, more lurve?

No. "I've lost my faith in humanity" is a hollow, meaningless phrase genrally used by people who want to appear edgy or intelligent. People who say this often tend to cherrypick isolated examples of human cruelty or ignorance from the news (because everyone knows what a balanced view of the world the news gives us), while ignoring the great achievements of humanity and subtle beauty of the human condition. Either that or they forgo an argument altogether, simply citing "the stupidity of others". Not you though, right? You're special, right?

I am convinced the world is growing ever so slightly less retarded and wretched for each passing day. It's just a very gradual transition which can't be easily seen.

But think about this. Many of the idiotic things that crop up across the world that makes you want to hijack a rocket and minecraft yourself a new life on Mars... The fact that they are noticed, and that people protest and that they indeed are called out on their stupidity is a good sign.
For instance, many of Santorum's antics. A few decades ago, noone would have batted an eye. And even if the Kony-campaign turned out to be the scam that it was, it was at least exposed. Child soldiers have been a regular staple of the more chaotic and horrible-type wars for... Probably as long as there's been any. I'm sure the Celts dragged quite a lot of minors along for the battle when they could. But the fact that it became a "thing" is an indication that we might slowly become less ready to accept it.

My point is, as we develop, the more cruel and primitive aspects of life on earth becomes all the more glaring in their hideousness and unneccesity. I think that it's something, at least.

I lost hope for humanity because obviously I see the pain and sufferign and evil..I experience it first hand from my comfy chair with my expensive gaimg computer an PS3 over there in the corner in my house..my nice warm house with runnin water which belongs to my parents who raised and loved me..also in this room are the countless action figures I love to collect with shelves of video games and comics that have brought me hours upon hours of entertainment and as I sit here posting on this forum using my broadband internet connection...screaming about the injustice of videogame publishers and developers..I sit here think about how awful everything is and have decided that EVER SINGLE PERSON in the world is an awful awful horrbile person who deserves to die

because for one there are way to many people doing hardcore drugs in this country, people get mad and kill other people for no damn reason, the government is trying to take away our rights in America, and people get weirder and weirder and do stupider and stupider shit.

I haven't:
the people who aren't in the category above are for the most part intelligent people who are doing something to advance forward technology and the community.

No. There are genuinely good people out there and there are some total fucking assholes as well. It's a nice balance. Positivity and negativity, you can't have one without the other and that's a good thing.
