I have an obsession with machinimas. I cannot stop watching them on youtube, especially halo ones. My question: Do you like machinimas? If so, what is your favorite?

The only ones I have seen are by RoosterTeeth, so I have to choose them. Red VS Blue is pretty funny, even though Xbox LIVE actually thinks I will pay them for it when I have a computer.

Machinimas are awesome! Explosions, blood, guns, environments, all for anyone with $60 in their pocket? Sounds an awful lot like win to me!

Anything that isn't by that guitarmasterx7 guy. I hate that FGT.
[sarcasm]I espescially hate his fucking ACT 5 to my favorite series of all time. That asshat ruined it. [/sarcasm]
I love machinimas. I guess there are something like 120 machinima subscribtions on my Youtube page.
Halo 3, GTA 4, Gmod, Uncharted 2, Wow, I don't care, I watch'em all.
Also, on a fanboy note, guitarmasterx7, you rock.

Does DigitalPh33r even make anything anymore? His cynical distain for everything gets old very fast.

I like quite a few Machinima director's work, only problem is most stop making videos halfway through their work.

Hard Justice and One Life Remaining. Also, he is a writer for the new spin-off of Arby'n'the Chief.
I bet that information was useless.

I love machinima, and there are better ones than the Halo ones, although Red vs Blue is pretty good. My favorites, though, are Ross Scott's stuff (Civil Protection and Freeman's Mind) and Drakortha's DC Chronicles(Fallout 3!) on Youtube. The stuff by Strange Company is also great (especially Bloodspell, an hour and a half of machinima goodness) but they haven't produced anything new in quite a while.

Can I disagree, mate? I don't think that the worth of a machinima is measured in the game that is used to produce it. The Halo ones are very different, ranging from fan-fucking-tastic to total shit (Squad 68, oh dear)

I really liked Jimmy: The World of Warcraft Story and the other one. Red vs. Blue isn't bad either.

By all means, disagree, my good man. I just find Halo to be a very limited engine to make machinima in (everyone is always wearing full body armor and carrying weapons, vehicles are all very military-looking, settings look very similar, etc.) Like I said, Red vs. Blue is quite good, it just seems to me like Halo machinima is all the same visually.

He's still making Arby 'n' Chief: LA, despite how much everyone hates it. I used to love Arby, but now the humour well has run dry.

I love watching The Ken Burton Show, just to hear him shout "Ooh you bugger!"

But it has the theatre mode. Endless camera possibilities, no bullshit with modifications or hud allowing even one person (Jon Graham, for example) to create his movies.
Body armor is not very beneficial, of course, but, it still works.
And there is Forge, so you can easily create your own venues.
That is not to say that Halo provides the engine for all the great machinima, that would be a thoroughly wrong statement.
