Poll: Mac's having few games... a good thing?

right, just a moment ago I posted response to a thread called "PC vs Mac" (kinda generic, but it didn't have any malicious will behind it since the creator specifically said no flaming).

I said that I prefer Mac, simply because the lack of games means I don't get distracted from my education, since I use my Macbook A LOT for my school work (I didn't go into this kinda detail in my post on the other thread, but, yeah)

I suddenly became curious is anyone else agrees with me... what does the Escapist community think? As gamers ourselves, could the lack of videogames on Mac systems be a good thing?

Seems like a lack of discipline on your part rather then the OS you're using. no offense. Macs just aren't gaming rigs but, that doesn't mean they can't run some games. Fairly sure that some of the big titles are released for both.

I don't really care much, particularly since Macs aren't built for games, and the only one that can run serious games, the MacBook Pro, wasn't meant to. I play the games that I can't get on console on my Mac. Fallout 1+2, Homeworld 2, Starcraft, KoTOR: classic stuff. I can't run Crysis, but I don't care much, because there aren't many PC exclusives nowadays that can't also be found on Mac.

i have a mac and i love it but for games just no1 you are way better of getting a pc

I prefer having my working computer free of distractions - even if there's a Mac version of a game I generally get the PC one anyway (also, big ol' HDTV better for gaming than laptop screen).

Well, tbh, i never bought my mac in the mind that i was going to play games on it. At university that i guess is a plus; first i cant play games lol, but despite this i never play video games at uni as it is....

I think Mac is fine the way it is. It does its own things great, like good commercial and free photoshop.

I personally prefer pc, its a more open platform and I can play my games.

Hmmm... I do like cheese.
Actually OP, I guess I can see your point, I bought a mac because I didn't want to be constantly updating my hardware to make sure I can play the newest games on the highest settings. So I guess it not having many games could be considered a good thing, that said, I do quite like that cheese.
