Added a "I don't like sports games as the point of games is to be able to do things you couldn't normally do; if you want to play football go outside" option.

As a fairly active person i never did quite get that argument. I mean I do play football outside, once in a while id like to play it in Brett Favres shoes without having to kidnap him.

I understand your perspective; I just wanted everyone to have their opinion available in the poll.

I've played some form of Madden or other EA sports games over the years (NBA Live I think) and while they are fun for a while, I get pretty tired of the fact that they have to make an entire new game every frackin' year when they could simply do a DLC roster update. In the past, this might've been impossible, but I think it's pretty easy for a determined player to just make the trades in game to reflect the new rosters.

I'm pretty much the same way. If I want to watch football, I'll catch the Bills game on TV.

I really like the Madden games I've owned 08',09',and 10'. I love Madden 10 right now but I'm not very good at it.

I've played most of the newer ones. I don't like the franchise but I don't hate it either. It's like in a stage of stagnation. NFL 2K5 I really liked; mainly b/c it was different then Madden.

I really don't think (or know how) EA is abusing the Madden franchise. You would be stupid to NOT release a Madden every year. And from a consumer standpoint, it seems logical to me to release a new football game every year. People complain that they're just releasing the same game every year, but it's FOOTBALL. The only areas I think EA can improve on are graphics and features, which they're done a reasonably good job on.

Anyways, I think only the most avid Madden fans buy the new version every year, while the rest of us renew every 3-4 years (which is what I do).

Meh, it's fun with your friends, aside from that it's not that great. I have never owned a Madden game though, all my friends do, and I laugh at the ones that buy the new one each year.

So up until recently when activision decided to start being jerks everyone hated EA, and one of the main reasons for this hate was the Madden franchise; but how many of you have actually played Madden?

we all still hate ea we just spread our hate to activision as well (though i personally dont because they didnt raise the us price). and i really dont like madden because i dont like sports games.

I used to play quite a bit of Madden over a decade ago, back when the ambulence used to drive on the field to pick up injured players, running over other players on the way. The last one I played was 2005 and it wasn't as cool.

I got a little bit of enjoyment out of one of the old Gamecube Maddens ('05 or '06, no idea). EA is definitely milking the franchise for all it's worth, and it honestly has changed less in 10 sequels than most games do in 1 sequel.

Still, people keep buying them so I guess I can't blame EA for taking advantage of idiots.
