Poll: MAG Beta Impressions

SO the MAG public beta came out today and after playing it for a couple of hours, I rather like it. So I just wanted to know what those on the Escapist thought of it.

Its out, but servers are down due to the large amount of connections.
I played a few games, and it was great. Even though they "claimed" that graphics and gameplay will not amount to the actual release, I found the graphics quite pleasing and the gameplay really fun.
There is only 1 game mode, sabotage for 64 players, and 2 different maps.

EDIT: Can't wait for 8 more levels to be squad leader

Once you download that and go to play it it will download around another 2 gigs or so.

Once you reach level ten you can play domination with 256 players.

It's actually quite fun. Control-wise it's exactly like Bad Company (On the playstation 3 anyway) if you just switched place with the knife and crouch buttons.

I don't see this game as a purchase though, because I quickly get tired of fps multiplayer.

It's great fun, just recently we started up a MAG Clan user group [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/groups/view/MAG-Clan] so we could organize and create an Escapist clan for MAG. A game like this just screams clan organization, so come on by and join up.

I can't wait until the game comes out, it's great fun and very enjoyable.

Animations are kinda buggy and the controls feel stiff, but it's a pretty good game though.

Controls are meh, you get used to it.
I found out about domination just awhile ago, still not enough people to play though.

But as the disclaimer said during initial load: Gameplay and graphics will improve in the final.

Also, the beta is to stress test the servers, so that any problems that they have now (which they are having) will be taken care of when the retail version goes on line. So, yeah, there's server problems, and yeah, they expected it, and yeah, they're gonna try to fix it, and if it works, it works, yay!
