Huh... I actually have a toilet in my shower... well, it's a wet room, so of course it is. Anyway, under... different circumstances, shall we say, I'll hold it, but if I can't, just aim at the drain.

Ultimately, I don't see what's wrong, since you're washing yourself and urine's a hell of a lot cleaner than a lot of the crap that you wash off your body.

The breakdown of piss: water (nearly all of it); urea (by-product of metabolism, harmless); sodium chloride (...); a few other inorganic salts; and trace organic compounds. Problem?

Well, my drains clogs up easily because of my long hair, having water build up until the show is over. Yeah, I think you can guess whether or not I pee in the shower.

I never did it at home since we were 5 people sharing that shower so it'd just be disgusting.

Now i have a roommate so i still don't do it 'cause it'd be equally disgusting.
If i ever live alone i might do it on my lazy days.

Anyway I don't because even though my parents never told me not to I kinda assumed it was uncool. Done grosser stuff in the shower though. Don't know how that fits into the poll

I apologize if it appears sexist. Now that I have some results I will disclose the reason behind the poll.

My wife just assumed I always peed in the shower, because she assumes all men do. I think it's gross and I want to run ZERO risk of pee getting on my feet/in between my toes. When I said I was appalled at the thought of peeing in the shower, she just smiled and said 'Come on, just admit it, I know you do, all men do.' So I thought I'd get a quick poll from the Escapist and see how that panned out. Thanks for the response nevertheless!

I piss in the shower all the time as long as it's mine. It's convenient and for some reason I always have to piss when I get in the shower, even if I already did a few minutes ago. And if I get piss on my feet? OH NOES! It's not like I'm already in the shower or anything....oh wait...

It's pee. Not the bubonic plague.

I did it once. Never really appealed to me.

My shower's drain isn't all that great though. The water kind of builds during the shower, so if I were to urinate during, I'd be standing in it for a few minutes, which is kind of against the point of taking a shower.

I have stood from my shower and shot to the toiler though.

Why not? It's just water from your body joining water in a pipe. I couldn't really care less where that water happens to be. That said, I have an en-suite shower so I pee in the shower if I wish to and don't have to consider other people.

That said, if I did, I might still pee in the shower. Most people will quite happily masturbate or have sex in the shower so I don't see why pee is so different.

I don't think I ever had the urge to pee while in the shower. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't do it if I did. Not really because I find it disgusting, but I'm not the only one using the shower in my house.

No, because it's hardly any effort to just go in the toilet. I don't even need to leave the shower to whizz in the toilet. Also, I've never had a situation where I've had my own shower, it's always been shared so we consider it to be a sort of unwritten rule. Actually nowadays it's on the flat rules. Number 4 I think, no pissing, masturbating or sex in the shower. Thankfully shaving and cleaning brew supplies are allowed.

I dunno, i can't help to think of it as kinda gross but i have done it a few times. Mostly because i was sick/drunk/tired out of my mind or about to explode.

There are several rules to urinating in the shower:
1. Always wash your pees down the drain afterwards by directing spray where you peed.
2. Avoid peeing on the sides of the shower (harder to wash off)
3. As long as no one sees you (I don't mind knowing someone is peeing in the shower, but I don't want to see them do it, ignorance is bliss)
4. Don't do it while anyone is in there with you (this is part of rule number 3)
5. Don't talk about peeing in the shower with anyone that uses your shower.

If the last one does come up then the best answer is "Well I suppose it would be alright since the water is washing it all away and the pipes are connected anyway". By saying this you are not suggesting you do pee in the shower, but are allowing it to be alright if someone does (in case the other person does it).

You have to love these answers, stuff like "you can do it but only down the drain, it's sterile but you have to do it down the drain"

If it's that sterile why not just do it down your leg? Your washing it with soap anyway.

Basically, stop being so squirmish. All the things you put into your body without realizing it (the stuff pumped into food).

If you want to be uber clean and totally unhealthy germ and bacteria free, you could always disinfect it after your shower session.

i've heard somewhere that urinating in the shower helps break down hair that's caught and thusforth unclogging ur drain to a degree.

Peeing in the shower isn't really that large an ordeal. Three reasons are 1) Fresh urine is sterile, 2) It's getting washed away by the shower anyway, and 3) It can really save on the water bill, especially if you shower every single day.
