Manny Ramirez has apparently tested positive for a banned substance, and will be suspended for 50 games starting today. He alleges that it was a prescribed medication for a "medical issue," and he in no way has taken steroids or performance enhancers (aside from this incidental medication).

As another one of the game's best hitters is linked to the "steroid era," what is your opinion of how baseball should handle this? I understand that baseball has to take a hard stance on any positive tests, but do they have a responsibility to hear a player's case before dropping the ban-hammer?

Oh boy....

Not again....

Baseball is being destroyed, literally, destroyed by the players.

Personally I don't think that Manny would ever take steroids, but then again, I never thought that Barry Bonds would be around long enough to break the HR record before someone said, "Hey, I think he's on steroids. I mean nevermind his hate size has grown 5 or so sizes and he has grown to double the size he was when he first started playing...but that's legit!"

Whatever, I'm glad that my baseball career is over next year.
