Poll: Mario or Wario?

In the wake of the sidekick thread and the Mario/Luigi poll nests a new seed.

The real question is: Mario or Wario?

Now this would make for an interesting discussion. It's not even clear-cut good or evil, because Wario isn't necessarily evil; he just wants money, and as much of it as he can get.

I agree that Wario isn't so much evil as he is chaotic while Mario is more good and lawful. It's "one for all" vs "all for one"!

It's got to be Wario. He's the only one out of the two that actually has any sense. Mario spends all his time rescuing the princess, when we all know that she's just going to get kidnapped again a few weeks later. Wario, by contrast, spends all his time hoarding money and looking out for No. 1. Mario's probably the better person, but Wario is more interesting and sensible.

It's "one for all" vs "all for one"!

It's more "one for all" vs. "one for one", to be honest. Wario looks out for himself and no one else.

Well Wario is of course not only the main character of the Wario games. He was Mario's antagonist and big bad evil boss in a couple of Mario titles before becoming the anti-hero we've come to love, or love to hate.

Mario land 2; six golden coins. First game I ever completed has wario as the main boss, but he's quite easy so he wasn't even a memorable boss for me

He's a damn sight cooler than Mario, and, just for the record, the Wario Land games were better, in my opinion, than the Mario games, or, at least, they were in terms of the handheld consoles.

Wario all the way, I love his attitude and the Warioland games were fantastic, come on Nintendo lets have a sequel on the DS, master of disguise doesn't count.
Imagine a proper DS Warioland game, done with the new super Mario bros engine, I want it.
