Just a question. Which game mode did most people play? I'm not sure how I'd find this info, so I thought I'd ask people who have played the game. Which gametype did you choose and why?

Rpg. Because While I like the story I want atleast a little challenege while I a ramming my shotgun into a husks netherregions. Though I did turn the difficulty to story once when I had to face 2 ravagers and a brute.

Y'know, I'd forgotten about those modes. Remember when this was the big ME3-related controversy?

Heh. Innocent times.

Anyway, RPG mode for me.

All turns out the exact same in the end anyways..

..That said, RPG mode. Just like the default mode of ME/ME2.

Not a lot of incentive to play anything other than RPG.

Can you even get achievements in Story or Action?

You can technically have both Story and Action enabled if you know that it only changes a few options in the pause menu. Not that I would turn the difficulty to "Narrative" and turn conversation to "Off". That's just missing the point.

I'm Commander Shepard and it doesn't matter which mode you pick, it all ends the same way...

Most people ported ME2 character which made it automatically RPG, so that'll be your majority answer.

Default / RPG for me.

And yeah, all the massive pre-release fuss about this feature really did die down after people actually played the game. I wonder if that's because, as many suggested pre-release, it didn't actually matter, or if it's because they were distracted by the ending controversy :p

Lol, I forgot that there were other modes. Honestly, I'm pretty sure they only put the other options in to appeal to the wider audiences that wouldn't be able to comprehend the complexity of participating in a conversation in a game.

RPG, I actually thought I was on action mode when I saw I only had two choices in dialogue, then on my insanity play trough I had to check that I wasn't on story because I was too easy. :/

Same here. I checked at least four times to be sure I was on the right game mode. Shepard speaking too much on his own is actually as big an issue for me as the ending.

why does every game have to fit into a set Genre. ME3 is a mash up of many established Genres and can fit into many.

I never actually got the choice of the three. Maybe that's because I imported from ME2 and it was assumed that I just wanted the normal experience? My fiance, who started up in ME3 got the choice right around character creation, but for me the options never appeared on either of my 2 play throughs (both imports).

Is there any extra dialog in "Story" mode? Or is it just a lesser combat option/easier gameplay? I play for the story more than any other element, but I feel like the normal gameplay is part of that story - the challenge is part of the progress in a way. I wouldn't play "Action" because I like making my dialog choices a lot, but I might play "Story" if there's more on offer in that arena even if I lose out a bit on gameplay challenge - just to see what's added, if anything. Does anyone know?

Huh? Game mode? What? Is this about which part of the game is the most enjoyable one? I'm so confused.
