I think I have a very good explanation for this: At least for some people, I don't think it is their fault.

Both friend and myself have encountered times when we are in the heat of battle and all of a sudden our 360s freeze. We can't do anything but reboot.

We really don't know why it happens, because mine is an old Elite 360, and his is a new slim 360.

I can go for days without it happening and then poof, right in the middle of doing awesome in a silver match, tangling with and beating a brute and three cannibals all at once by myself(had no rockets), then 10 seconds into the next round when I'm ready to keep kicking ass, it freezes and I can't do anything.

I've noticed though that many times a second before the label for the next round pops up, all action and myself freezes for a second, and resumes when the round label pops up.

- Getting kicked by anyone with a N7 score of 50 or less in a silver run
My complaint is more on level of character, but I've been kicked a few times for no good reason. I've been in the team loading area a few times where I set up my gear, set myself to ready, and then after the other two readied up, we waited forever for the leader to ready up, then all of a sudden all three give me X's to kick me.

I do remember couple days ago when my N7 score was around 114, I decided I wanted to test how powerful even a low level Krogen can be, by getting in a silver match with my level 5 Krogen Sentinel. The first group I loaded up with kicked me right as my screen loaded up and I could just see their names and classes for all of three seconds. The next group that had one level 20 and two 19s let me stay, and we ended up getting a full extraction, I got the revived 5 teammates medal, plus five other medals, 1 gold(Melee of course), two silvers(Kills, and Assists), 2 bronze(tech kills, assault rifle kills). I got knocked out once, but that in the final seconds, while I was inside the extraction point. I was third in points just shy of second, and my Krogen got enough exp to gain four levels.

No, you just have to know how to use them and have the right upgrades. The only gun I've been putting on my characters in silver matches is my Avenger X with a 70% stability bonus and a 50% bonus ammo per clip. Of course it also helps that by just carrying my Avenger X, I have a 200% power recharge bonus.

Thankfully, they also seem the most susceptible to distraction. They pretty much always will go after Decoys. This definitely helps when I'm the Salarian Engie.
Cerberus isn't to bright either when it comes to the Decoys.

I was in a silver match earlier today with my level 18 Salarian Engie, and near the end of a wave while most of my team was across the map(The indoor Cerberus base), an Atlas and a little trooper walked through the doorway in front of me on the bottom level near where the extraction point is for that map, and I was like "Oh shit", because I was alone against the Atlas with no missiles to use on it. Well out of desperation I threw out my Decoy and dove behind the crates. I looked out and was able to fire on the Atlas until eventually one of my allies came in to help me finish it off.

I just found it hilarious because that Atlas and trooper were standing right up next to my Decoy and they thrashed it for at least 15 seconds or more before it disappeared, which gave us plenty of time to take both out. It was like they didn't care that I was spamming energy drain and incinerate, while I blared away at them with my assault rifle.

The only times I quit in a match is when my game glitches out. It goes insane, my character spazzes out and start walking on top of things, and flies and falls below the map. At one point I was like 100 feet up in the air. I just feel that I'm not really contributing anything when that happens.

The random generator of items in the store is my only enemy...

EDIT

Just came across one of those charge-nova guys on a silver match as soon as I had posted this... Infuriating. He kept doing it too. Like the 15 times he died wasn't enough of a fucking hint.

EDIT EDIT

I don't... fucking... another one?! Two in a row after posting here. I've always ended up with good teams before now! This thread is cursed!

*cough* as of yet I've only played bronze, but atleast in bronze and when I'm teamed up with a mate who's got my back it IS god-mode. Tried silver once a couple matches ago, tried to charge/novax2/charge combo, died, didnt try it again

I just play Bronze and Silver, I'm kind of pants at shooters (not much practice, and my brain damage and meds slows my reflexs). I think the thing that most annoys me are all the elitists honestly. I do okay but generally seem to rank in the bottom (not surprising) and mostly play support for other characters as I know my limitations. I get tired of people criticing me for sticking with the weapons I know, trying to rez everyone, and sticking to the objectives and/or cover instead of trying to be a cowboy (as ironic as it sounds). To me it seems like people think that if your not a Vanguard (which it seems everyone plays) biotic charging and novaing everthing as fast as it spawns people think your a loser.

Like last night, I had a Krogan with a Sniper Rifle and Falcon Grenade Launcher. I'm basically following the group shooting into mobs of troops from cover or picking guys off at a distance, and meleeing if someone gets close (as a Krogan I see little need for a short range weapon on Bronze since Krogan are beasts in melee) yet I had people griping at me for not melee charging everything with the Vanguard. :/

Of course a lot of this is probably just me sucking, but still it bugs me.

Well having watched Vanguards play I think a lot of them get used to having people cover them or multiple vanguards (seems like the most played class) all going at once to take the pressure off any one of them.

To be honest while it's not worth great rating when I maxxed my Asari Vanguard I thought Stasis was more uber than the charge moves. I probably kept more people going with a Stais bubble in the right place than I did with any other move from any other character.

We've gotten so used to Cerberus from the demo, now they're just a minor annoyance. Banshees are the new phantoms to be feared.

Almost like it's a team game, and we're suppossed to work together to achieve a common goal... lol, I made an Asari Vanguard, but if rolling, sidestepping, and performing heavy melee costs valuable barrier, I think I'm good.

In my experience, the Reapers are head and shoulders above every other enemy group. I find it to go Reapers > Geth > Cerberus generally. I suppose you could min/max your squad to take on each particular group but if you don't know what is coming, Reapers are the toughest.
I can't comment on gripes about the community because I only play with friends.

Reapers are by far the hardest followed by the phantom, I swear those bastards are a pain in the ass to kill by yourself.

What annoys me are teammates who decide to go in different directions and end up dying far away, bah it's a pain to rez them

Things that annoy me (in Silver and Gold)

1 Getting kicked by anyone with a N7 score of 50 or less in a silver run

2 Infiltrators that do not rez

3 Engineers, Adepts and Vanguards Carrying both a Sniper Rifle and a Heavy Shotgun

4 COD kids (Yes the fucking Battlefield Soldiers gives you away), playing only Soldier, whining like little bitches when I rez the Vanguard First if I am playing Infiltrator

5 Vanguards that go to the other end of the map in the Reactor Lvl and whine and ***** about th infiltrator not getting there in time to rez them.

6 Krogans that run neck deep into a Banshee and complain when they get one shotted.

7 Using the Missiles early on in Silver/Gold, instead of saving them for the wave 9-10 hunts

8 Asaris that think Spamming Heavy Melee means they will survive running neck deep into enemy Forces.

9 Salarian Engie with a Heavy Shotgun and a Sniper Rifle

10 Anyone with an Assault Rifle
Went ahead and numbered them to make this easier.

1. Hasn't happened to me, but I can definitely see the annoyance factor in that.

2. Again I can see how this would be annoying. As an Infiltrator myself, I know that with the power to cloak-rez, my prefered class is really supposed to be half-medic.

3. Agree completely.

4. Agree completely. But then again I think that anyone playing a Soldier that's not a Krogan is playing a worthless class. :p

5. This one pisses me off to no end. They think their charge-nova-charge-nova combo is god mode...when really it's a "ATTENTION ALL MOBS: SHOT THIS MORON" mode.

6. Anyone that does not IMMEDIATELY get the fuck away from a Banshee deserves to die. But this brings up a bug(?) that really pisses me off as well: anyone notice that the Banshees apparently have tractor beams? I'm super careful around Banshees and had never been insta-killed by one until just yesterday. I was running away from one and literally watched as my character just kinda slowly floated backwards about 20 feet to get grabbed by the Banshee and insta-killed...this has happened twice last night.

7. Seriously, this one is just inexcusable. The only time using a rocket is ok before wave 10 or 11 is if you're on a "Hold the Circle" objective and are truly being overrun.

8. Haven't seen this done, but if it is a wide-spread habbit, it goes right along with what I said about #5.

9. Haven't seen a Salarian Engineer rockin' a sniper rifle AND a shotgun, but the one I was on my team last night was rocking a Widow and nothing else and was actually doing pretty well for himself. Decoy is surprisingly useful/effective in Gold.

10. Fixed this one for you in the quote. :p

........what? Don't look at me like that. Assault rifles are absolutely worthless in Multiplayer.
ok never underestmate the power of an Assault riffle in the hands of someone who can use it,AKA, those of us you know how to use burst fire intead of spray and pray.

I find Cerberus really easy except for turrets. Only time I ever die against Cerberus is if there's multiple turrets shreading me into swiss. Geth are fine, but I hate fighing Primes on my own since my shields might aswell me made of paper. Reapers lower troops I find most difficult, but I normally don't go down unless I get trapped between a Brute and Basnshee. This mainly happens because people see the bosses and shit a brick. I try to take them out soon as possible or they will smack you in the back while you deal with the lower guys.

The main thing that pisses me off about teamates is when they try to shift the blame. Yoy went down because you took on too much. I'll revive you and get you back in the action, but down swear at me for you cocking up.

I agree with most of these, but a weirdly specific problem I've had happen far too often is that on the occasion that I go down on a wave with the kill important targets objective, my teammates never seem to realize that if they don't kill the targets before the timer runs out, the match is over. Lost several matches on silver and gold for that reason, and I don't think there's any excuse.

(Clarification, it's not that they couldn't kill the priority targets, but they ignored the objective, apparently because they didn't think it was required)

Because cerberus are all humans they are pretty vulnerable to stuff which stagger/knocks em over. You can easily seperate them and even their toughest units are vulnerable to total immobilization and once you get to their health bar they go down like a pack of cards.

Geth are all synthetics and thus are very vulnerable to normal damage and tech stuff along with fire. They do have much more resiliant units and they can certainly pack a punch up close so they take second place.

Reapers on the otherhand are a nightmare. Marauders, husks and cannibals are pretty weaksauce on their own, before the big guys show up. But when the brutes (not too tough but can put a spanner in the works and scatter your team), those bug thinks which can snipe you (massive damage) and, dear god, banshees show up things can go south prety quickly. Aside from using the rocket you need proper cooperation and skilled play to take these fellas down whilst you have a shot at one man armying the other two.

I think all your problems with the community can be solved by playing in a team with at least 3 people. you can properly cooperate and you can rely on them and you know how they play so you can adapt to that.

Also alot of people dont seem to realise this but xp is pooled at the end of the match. What you get is simply to show whos best in the team but you all get the same at the end.

1. I always get furious when I see 4 people on a squad with sniper rifles and there's not a single Infiltrator. YES WE ALL NO SNIPER RIFLES ARE STRONG, BUT THIS ISN'T CAW AH DOOTY! PLAY YOUR DAMN CLASS RIGHT.

2. Don't disconnect if you're not the top of the scoreboard. Everyone get's the same EXP and credits at the end. Your E-Penis will not shrivel if you're not number 1 in a Co-op game.

3. Don't waste Viper Missiles on a single Brute/Atlas/Geth Prime. It's a total waste, and those enemies are SUPER easy if you have a combo-spamming Adept such as myself to melt them on your side.

4. Quit sniping Lifted/Singularity trapped enemies when a Biotic is setting up Explosion combos. It's just annoying, and that combo explosion is much more likely to take out multiple enemies than your "sick widow shots".

5. Vanguards, stop being a kill stealing prick when people are lining up shots/setting up combos. Yes, the Charge is a very cool ability, but if you zoom your ass into trouble, don't get pissy when no one runs to save your dumb ass.

1. People who don't use powers, even soldiers. Yes it may take you a while to recharge, but they're called 'powers' for a reason, they are awesome. Use them. If I'm dead and having to watch you finish the round, I don't want to spend 5 minutes watching you ponce around the map pewpewing at people.

2. Vanguards. They are awesome, and on occasion I like to play as one, but they are annoying to be on a team with. Kill steals galore!

3. People not returning to the LZ at the end of the mission. You are dicks.

EDIT: 4. Seen a few people talking about kill stealers ruining biotic combos. Yeah this sucks, don't do it. Biotic combos take down multiple weak enemies, that's how you play the adept class.

Other than that no real problems. Apart from one game where two guys were chatting about babies through the match. I stayed for about 5 mins before I couldn't take anymore of their ridiculousness - "Oh you're wondering why I'm dead in the first round? Maybe it's because I couldn't concentrate for your stupid banter!"

Lot of people complaining about Phantoms. I mostly play an asari adept, so through a combination of stasis, warp, and melee they're pretty easy to deal with.

That's how I am with my Asari Vanguard. Really I only use Charge if it's time to make a get-away and there's only one or two enemies on the path I intend to take. Stasis could verywell be the best ability in Multiplayer.

:p I believe when boag first mentioned it and I commented on it, it was speaking in reference to Vanguards on Silver or Gold. So indeed, we all know that a Vanguard can easily solo Bronze difficulty, but that strength goes away very quickly after the first few waves of Silver, and you will promptly get your head blown off in Gold.

I have yet to see any player go on a rampage with an Assault rifle. Burst fire for accuracy doesn't matter when your gun is essentially shooting spitwads at the target. My problem with assault rifles is that they have no stopping power. One would think that the Turian Soldier's Marksmenship would turn a Revenant into a Death Machine. Nope, empty as much ammo as you want, someone else is going to get the kill (unless you're off by yourself).

There's nothing wrong with getting a bunch of assists, it's a team game, afterall. It just starts to feel like your teammates could kill the targets just as easily if you weren't there at all, reducing your role from "supporting fire" to "meat shield".

My attitude towards Reapers in multiplayer after maxing out Adept is to just laugh at them. Biotic combos melt Brutes and Ravagers no problem

So, after having finished the Mass Effect 3 campaign, I decided to try out to multiplayer for a couple of rounds, just to see what it feels like. Before I knew it, I was hooked and I've been playing it extensively for the last week or so. I haven't played Gold that often yet due to my awful luck at getting the right items (severely underpowered weapons).

However, there are a couple of things that happen quite often that grind my gears. I was wondering what kind of annoyances others have come across and whether my bad experiences with the community is a common one. Anyway...

The things that bug me:
- Why do people keep joining silver difficulty teams when they're below the level of ten? In my experience, there has not been a single match in which these people didn't hold the entire team down. The moment that things start getting a bit tough, these are always the players who die first or quit early...which brings me to my next point...
- Why the hell do people keep quitting early? I've had people join a server, just to leave right in the middle of it. Do they not understand that you're screwing over other people of your team and lower their chances of success if you just disconnect from the group like that? This isn't always a huge problem in silver, but this happens in gold as well and this nearly always results in the rest of the team getting killed. I don't care if you suck, just keep playing. Any help is better than no help. Besides, you're another target enemies can focus on.
- Guys, if there is an enemy right next to the upload terminal, don't just ignore it and start uploading. The thing isn't going anywhere. Stop being so fucking greedy for a few credits/points!
- People who do this, would you please stop wasting your rockets on lone atlas mechs during the first few rounds that they appear? We can just chip away at their health right now, so please stop wasting these on early enemies and keep them for later waves.
- Don't ignore the good vanguard, even if he/she is wrecking the entire level. Good vanguards are usually the main source of power and by letting them die, you're basically harming the group.

So, what kind of behavior have you all encountered that annoyed you?
Oh, I'll just add that I play a Salarian Infiltrator. Pretty awesome class, although a lot of people start to rely on you to revive them. I don't really mind, as long as they don't die in a hopeless area. My cloak doesn't last that long.
I have a huge respect for Salarians as one (Engineer or Infiltrator) since one saved our Wave ten on Silver by himself. Stevensegaled or something like that you are awesome.

Lol anyway let me address some points there:

"- Why do people keep joining silver difficulty teams when they're below the level of ten?"

Well sometimes when you check the N7 rank level you can see that that Level 2 Human Male Infiltrator that just joined is really N7 lvl 243. Which means he(she's) been around... However this is not a justification.

Guys out there, please, I understand it is boring to Promote your entire class and having to level up from scratch but c'mon... At least Bronze until level 10, when your character can stand a chance at the silver waves. I imagine your skills and your weapons are superb, but in this multiplayer type with "stats" you should really beef up a little before trying a silver (or gold) wave.

"- Why the hell do people keep quitting early?"

I've always hated this but it can't be avoided. Sometimes you know when it's 90% probably it was a Rage quit. For example guy gets taken down, you rush to his ragdoll only to see him bled out in under 2 seconds (which probably translates to the fact that he wasn't mashing not to bleed) and then says that that team mate has left the session.

But only in those cases (in which you can never be a 100% unless you personally know the person and can verify later) can you actually get angry. Otherwise, well, otherwise life happens.
Bad connection gives out, laggy connection to server boots you, baby woke up, electricity went out, etc...

"- Guys, if there is an enemy right next to the upload terminal..."

Well this one is shaky, it depends on the situation, sometimes you just want to finish that 4th node and get the credit bonus (for the entire team) and then deal with the enemies without a time limit. But yeah, sometimes it's better to handle the friendly looking chaps with lazer guns first and then the node.

"- People who do this, would you please stop wasting your rockets on lone atlas..."

I share this opinion, but again, it can't be helped. Unless you get a mic and a team willing to play to win, you will always get the new guy shooting the rocket at the lone mech/banshee/prime (even a Brute). Or maybe someone really desperate for points.
What I personally hate it's the opposite, the guys with 2 cobra missiles that won't use the things in a wave of Gold or Silver when there are 3+ Atlas mechs in one position where you need to be (like an LZ or a Hack zone)... Guys, maybe everyone else ran out of missiles. Just use the damned things, you will probably get some more when you buy a new pack.

"- Don't ignore the good vanguard..."

As a vanguard player (sometimes nova/charger and sometimes not) I can tell you people really don't like a vanguard (good or bad), one guy even told me over his headset "I'aint gunna rez you" followed by "not that the Vanguard's dead we can finally have fun" And then we were wiped in the wave 8 of a silver... True story. (Not that If I was alive it would have been any different, but it would've been a plus not a con, besides I was playing a DRELL vanguard, not like a I can do charge/Nova).

Sometimes this is because they want to be the Top dog of the scoreboard, sometimes because they don't know what the hell is team play and sometimes because it's the Vanguard's fault.

I understand how awesome it is to play a guy that can basically solo an entire round (Bronze 11 Waves my personal and Silver 10 Waves, but I actually got a mission completed on the LZ even tho I was dead... Against Cerberus both times) Buuuut, cmon, dont charge and nova the 3 fully barrier Banshees and her 2-3 Brute friends... And then whine when no help comes when they are insta-killing your ass. But anyhow... Good post :)

My pet hate is that people don't equip equipment... ever, especially in gold.
