So last time I tried this I was ill informed and too lazy to look it up myself. This time I have better knowledge of the films of May and want to give them a chance from the get-go. The title comes from the MTV Movie Beatdown from some time ago (sorely unfair to the actual interesting movies without IP tracking). Again I have bias but if I have musings on a movie I'll offer them. Here are trailers for the movies

I start here for the sake of some pondering. Why have the Sleeping Beauty story told from the angle of the villain? The Wikipedia description makes the title character sound less like pure evil to the core and more like misunderstood fairy who is constantly antagonized just because she sympathizes with creatures deemed evil by man rather than man itself. Not to mention that the angle makes the flexing of her power less impactful. In the animated film, Maleficent hardly flexed her own might, because of this the moments when she did had weight. It seems that in this movie, Maleficent will be doing it for most of the film making the inevitable change into a dragon less impressive.

Why the four TV Spots for Godzilla? Best shots. The main trailer was good but didn't show much, so I'm using those four Spots for a comprehensive picture.

These are the only movies I could find in May that the Escapist would care about, and before anyone says anything like last time, I checked before making the thread.

Maleficent: I'm not a fan of this new trend that has arisen the past few years. This idea to make Disney classics, dark and edgy. Just seems like a cheap way to cash in.

Spiderman: Well a little part of me is angry that they claim to follow the comic books, yet from my research completely change characters. I believe Rhino didn't use a mech and had actually super powers and Electro wasn't black. But I can understand wanting to throw some diversity in. But unless my research on the Rhino is wrong there is no reason to put him in a mech.

X-Men: You know what this movie needs? Gambit. Other than that, just looks like X-men: The Last Stand pt.2

Godzilla: Let me state my issue with these monster movies. I don't care about people. I don't. I don't care about the housewife who has to get herself and daughter out of destruction's path, I don't care about the marine. I want to see Godzilla destroy shit. I want to see giant monster killing each other. The first fifteen minutes can have humans, after that... I want nonstop monsters. And yeah, I'm fine with a movie being that. I'd be awesome. Not every movie needs to be a deep thinker.

Godzilla is the winner, with Spiderman as a close second.

In the Ultimate continuity he did use a rhino themed mech.

I understand that, but I prefer the big dumb brute of a super villain, then some mech jockey. I mean if Disney/Marvel can pull off the Hulk, surely Sony could have done something similar. Also, the Green Goblin Leprachaun... Meh.

Of the movies you listed, I'd chose none.

I'd say blame the previous movie for it.

What happened to April? That's next isn't it? Or have I confused my months again?
OT: X Men because I don't know anything about it and that makes it better than the other three for me.

I torn between Godzilla and X-men but overall I voted for Godzilla. I guess I am more hyped for it.

Movies suck! Seriously is this all that comes out anymore? Comic book sequels and rip offs of old films?......

[sub]***** and moan til its Oscar season, then ***** and moan about them being too pretentious! [/sub]

I love anything X-men.

I have completely clouded judgement when it comes to any of the films. I have enjoyed all of them and I assume I will enjoy this one too.

All other items must be put to the side and X-men given priority.

Am I the only one mildly interested in Transcedence & All You Need is Kill, also coming out May?

But yeah, Spiderman and Xmen should be fun.

I never cared for Godzilla.

Spiderman comes out this month, for some reason.
