The stories from the ones Ive played were brliinat (Ive played pretty much all of them except half of 3, which I will soon on 3DS, and 4, which...I dunno) and the stealth is fun too, but I did prefer MGS 1 and 2 to any of the others, so in my opinion, no.

Yeah, I agree with this guy.
Not the best, but still one of my favorites. "Best" is a title reserved for nothing on an individual basis. My game library is what I deem as best.
Nothing can be the best thing of all time. Every single person with an opinion would have to agree upon something being the best. Nothing is the best of all time.
Personally? I think Metal Gear Solid is one of my favorite series of games ever, but it's certainly not the best game I've ever played. I'd say it's about 3rd or 2nd on the list of "My Best Games of All Time," but the first two are for another day.

Metal Gear Solid is a perfect example of what would happen if you mashed a pretentious JRPG story together with Splinter Cell.
I like them mostly, don't get me wrong, but best ever? Hell no. It's way too preachy and the story is a clusterfuck when you actually take a step back and look at it.

Almost... At the moment I can't think of any series that has been consistently as MGS has.
But Greatness is all a matter of opinion...
So No, its not the GOAT, and no series really can be if you ask me.
EDIT: But if someone were to make a list of the 10 or so greatest series, no matter how they were to arrange it and choose the games, then MGS would almost definitely be there.

I love the series to death, but I would not say it's the greatest of all time, but to me it comes really close.
What does a goat have to do with anything? I know you could eat a markhor in Snake Eater, is that it?

Sorry to disapoint you sir but, I am not young and my library is vast. It's just I don't see any other franchises that have the flow or consistency that MGS has given. BTW-The story may be somewhat confusing but plot holes there are hardly. And to say Solid Snake is a pathetic character is very sad indeed.Metalhandkerchief said:
