Poll: Methods of communication

Just something I was pondering earlier:

What do you use to communicate with your friends/acquaintances? It seems today that amongst my peers, social netoworking sites have overtaken everything else. Just a few months ago it was IM, but now people seem to have realised that their messages were getting read too quickly, so they went the Facebook route.

Not too long ago, email was the way to go. No more. I don't know why exactly, but IM and social networking irks me. I like email. It's in the name really: it's like a letter, but quicker. [small](incidentally, if anyone wants my email address, I'll be more than happy to PM it to you)[/small]

So, what do YOU use most of the time?

Instant Messenger if we are talking about using technology.

I talk to people face to face more often though.

Just a regular phone call.

Besides that I also communicate with friends via Xbox Live party chat.

I use MSN Messenger, I'll usually have three different conversations at once which is mega confusing XP

Texting people is the way to go. You don't need to enter an entire conversation, and you don't need to talk to people. AND you get time to figure out the perfect response.

I usually just call people, barely, I don't like to talk that much, unless your nice, but most people aren't.

Text messaging most of the time, although that is usually to arrange meeting up at some point.

I can't really categorize them in terms of most often used. I most often communicate with my friends face-to-face, but we plan events using SMS and Facebook. The overwhelming majority of my work correspondence that isn't face-to-face is over e-mail, though there's a decent amount of phone use in there too.

I do something a lot of people seem to forget called "talking" , I know a lot of escapists probably talk but it seems like people I know in real life much prefer to write something instead of talking.
