No. Some games have stories that are compelling, understandible, and are shown in a way so that there isn't a 500:1 Cutscene-to-game ratio.

MGS3 was the only one that had a story I enjoyed.

I enjoyed the depth of the MGS series' storyline. But then again, I'm an old-school EQ Lore junkie, so I don't mind the constant (and often unnecessary) plot twists and betrayals.

And yes, the ending of Snake Eater was very sad, but I was on my happy meds at the time so I really just felt bummed out and depressed

I never played a MGS game so I didn't vote, but I'm betting I'd think it sucked. Any story that tries to be serious but has a guy possesed by a severed arm is something I doubt I'd like (and I've heard there's worse).

I enjoyed it. MGS3 and 4 was more of an experience than a game. Though the bits we got to play were great fun. I particularly liked how MGS4 tied up the loose ends in the saga.
