Poll: Minecraft on Xbox 360

So Minecraft is coming to the Xbox 360 later this year. Now obviously Microsoft is hope that the game will sell millions, but I personally have my doubts about that, considering how the average Xbox user has a somewhat, err, different taste in games than the people who made Minecraft a megahit on the PC.
So I ask you, fellow escapists, what are your thoughts on this?


EDIT: A good point that I forgot to mention: anyone who wants to play minecraft has probably already bought it for their PC. It's not like there are hardware limitations that prevent people from playing it on PC, so why would anyone buy it again on the Xbox?

EDIT Nr. 2: Okay, so I don't own an xbox myself, therefore I'm not a trustworthy source about the average Xbox player. If the other posters are to be believed, there isn't much of a difference between the Xbox and PC markets. That said, my second point still stands.

Well apparently fortrescraft has sold pretty well whether or not theres still a market for minecraft will just have to be seen i guess it has the kinect support on its side

If it has multiplayer optionality, it'll do much better. SMP on my computer lags out completely, so it'd be great to play with my friends on a more stable connection.

I have Minecraft and an Xbox 360. All it will mean to me is that One more of my friends can play it. I think it'll do fairly well considering the popularity of Fortress Craft

Well Fortresscraft made over a mil so the market is there, but it was probably already filled because anyone with even a half arsed machine got it on PC or Mac.

If you ask anyone what the xbox is good for they will say the online community (provided you stay clear of the whiny kids on mw2), i have attempted multiple times to set up a multi player server for minecraft on my computer and feel it is too complex for just any user to do.
I expect this to change on xbox due to xbox live and will look forward to experiencing proper multi player.

The various crass ripoffs and impersonations of Minecraft make my skin crawl, I don't care about the argument that 'Minecraft ripped off infiniminer' at least they took the idea and improved on it. All this other shit like Fortress Craft and whatever the hell else they released is a poor attempt at copying (and a great failure at improving on) real genius.

Minecraft will outsell all those fakes no problem at all. I can bet a great deal of the purchasers only got it in hopes that they could experience Minecraft on the 360, only to be horribly disappointed. I know I wish I could have my points back for being dumb enough to try, could have put them towards something worthwhile, like Minecraft.

I won't be getting it (already have it on PC) but I imagine it'll sell pretty well. The top selling games on the XBLA are Minecraft clones IIRC.

I'd think it'll be pretty good but I have my doubts about if the controlls are going to work properly especially if there's a creeper trying to blow your house to little tiny bits.

I think it will do well. Better than Fortresscraft and TotalMiner. I won't buy it myself, but I would imagine a lot of people will.

It's gonna do fine. Although there are alot of those console elite types that only own 4 copies of every call of duty game, and nothing else, most normal people who can afford it game on console and PC's, and tend to share interest in both system primary genres.


I certainly will be buying it, and I just finished a 20 hour long gears of war 3 marathon xD.

I'm not saying that all xbox owners are idiots, just that there is a higher percentage of those people on the xbox than on pc. That's why I said average.

I'm not saying that all xbox owners are idiots, just that there is a higher percentage of those people on the xbox than on pc. Just play a random online match on both systems for proof.

It's not that there's a higher percentage, they're just a much louder minority that everyone seems to generalize every xbox gamer belonging to that group. Now, it is true that there is MORE of them mind you, but there's also a lot more people playing on the system.

I'd say the percentage is probably the same, it's just that there are more people generally on, say, Xbox Live than there are on any given retail PC game's multiplayer, meaning there are more idiots even though the percentage is the same.

I love Minecraft, but playing MP on my laptop sucks big time. If there's MP on the 360 version then I'm all for this!
