EDIT: A good point that I forgot to mention: anyone who wants to play minecraft has probably already bought it for their PC. It's not like there are hardware limitations that prevent people from playing it on PC, so why would anyone buy it again on the Xbox?.
my computer cannot play it well just on the fact that its a 64-bit im assuming. so i will definitely buy it on the360 seeing as it will be able to run on that lol. good thing i got it for free :D

I don't think it will do all that well. Like it's been said, many people have already bought it for the PC so why buy it for the xbox unless you have been totally oblivious to Minecraft this entire time.

Also, a great thing about Minecraft is that there are a ton of mods out there that are creative and wonderful. You wouldn't be able to use them if you had the xbox version. Even if mods were allowed, they would probably have to get an OK from microsoft for each and every one before they could be available for download. That means most mods won't be available.

There would also be a lack of texture packs unless they were outright taken away from the xbox version, limiting you to the default or a short list that you would probably have to buy to use. Overall, Minecraft is a PC game, not an Xbox game. I just don't see it working.

It terms of sales, I think minecraft would do alright. In terms of gameplay... heh, good fucking luck. Minecraft, while not graphically demanding, requires a lot of processing power, and whether or not the 360 can bring home the bacon is something else entirely. That, and the UI for the game on the 360 might be a bit difficult to use. Mojang can probably tweak it to work, but that's just an accommodation.

To sum up my feelings:
Minecraft: popular, fun, makes a lot of money, probably will sell fairly well.
Will it play well with a console/controller? I have my doubts.

To future Xbox 360 Minecraft players:

Good luck with the mods!

-PC Minecraft player.
This is one thing I hadn't considered. Unless Mojang somehow incorporates official mod support (a mod loader built into minecraft for example) on either just the xbox or both the xbox and the pc it's going to be a *****. Vanilla minecraft just doesn't do it for me.
Texture packs and skins too for that matter...
Edit: A simple fix would to have a store that can be accessed from both the xbox and pc with FREE mods, texture packs and skins that can be added to by anyone.

I hope that becuase I've bought it on PC I'll be able to play it on Xbox, but I very much doubt that, so I won't be buying it again just to play it on the Xbox when my laptop can run it

Not entirely

I'm waiting for it to become a game rather than a glorified lego builder with unfinished gameplay mechanics.

Only then once it's finished, and i like the look of it, then I'll pay money for it. I'm following Minecraft's development closely however.

Budora Tselency sounds like a good name for a character in a fantasy novel.

Not sure if I'd buy Minecraft on the 360 since I already have it for PC.

Now, if they release it on the 3DS I'll probably never stop playing the game ever.
