So...yeah. Gamesoft made a MLP iOS game. Gameinformer did an interview with one of the guys behind it.

http://www.gameinformer.com/games/my_little_pony/b/ios/archive/2012/10/25/welcome-to-ponyville.aspx

From the article

For anyone who ever wanted to take a magical journey to Ponyville, your wish will soon be granted in Gameloft?s My Little Pony for the iOS, releasing on Novemer 8, 2012. Bronies and Pegasisters will be able to recreate Ponyville, play mini games, and unlock dozen of Ponies for hours of enjoyment.
My Question. Who in the screaming tits is this thing for?

The fans of the show that are gamers likely wouldn't play something like this. And from what I can tell, the children that would eat this kind of thing up don't have iPhones. This entire thing seems questionable...

Eh, some of us might. I probably would give it a go (if I had an iPhone) even though it's a simplistic kiddie game.
It could be fun, it could be crap, but if it entertains me for the better part of a day and has one of my favorite fictional cast of characters in it, then I'll have spent money on worse things.

It's just an iOS game. Not exactly a championship horse race as far as investments go.

Most people play iPhone games while in transit to and from work or school. So, a simple iPhone game will probably get more purchases than a complex one. I have a ton of games on my phone and the only one that gets any play really is Bejeweled. Besides you get to watch people gasp in annoyance and disgust when they realize what you are playing. I recommend removing the headphones and letting the sound run through the speaker.
