I enjoyed Daybreakers but the constant poses and wesley snipes chewing the scenery hurt the movies a little for me. Still fun as hell to watch though.

Overall though I'd have to go with ye old just because of how much i love the original Dracula film and well as Nosferatu

Darren Shan created my favourite kind so far. Keeping many of the traits of ye olde variety, while giving them culture and personality. A lovely blend of the two.

I like the modern type. From Blade, Underworld, etc.

I like Vampires, but they're everywhere nowadays. There must be a dozen shows about vampires on TV, and two dozen more that feature them to boost ratings. Despite that the Blade TV series and Moonlight were both cancelled. WTF!? I loved those shows :(

Give me my Hellsing. I like classical mythos, but in a modern setting it feels a bit...inhibiting. Plus it's Hellsing!

I prefer the Twilight vampires. Except for the sparkling. I loathe the sparkle thing. But take a good look at Twilight, beyond the haters' cursory glance. Anyone who actually bothered to give the series a decent try, whether they love it or hate it, will have heard of the Volturi. They are basically the badass vampires that drink human blood and do all the killing and crazy shit that other vampires regularly do, and are basically like the vampire 'royal family'. They play an important part in books 2 and 4 specifically, and are pretty much like the vampires of, say, Hellsing or Blade or whatever. Except they still sparkle, because of bloody Stephanie Meyer (though they have the common courtesy to stay out of the sunlight...).

Anyway, yeah. Twilight vampires, if you take out the sparkles, are the toughest motherfuckers around, only able to die from being torn apart and then having the pieces burnt. And because Meyer decided to give certain ones powers that are usually pretty plot specific, if you dump them into Hellsing at least one is guaranteed to have some miracle power that will enable them to even defeat Alucard permanently. And I love Hellsing, as well as actually liking Twilight.

So if I had to be a vampire, I'd be a Twilight one, but I'd still drink human blood and make an extra-special effort to kill anyone who poked fun at my 'sunlight affliction). As well as making the effort to stay out of the sun...

i like how vampires were portrayed in Van Helsing(the movie), and Cirque Du Freak(the books). I do like the classic vampire though, but the 2 i mentioned are my favorite modern day vampires.

Oh, i guess i do kind of like the 30days of night vampires, but not as much as the others i mentioned.

My favorite would be de modern.

Specifically, I read a book once, set during WW1, that had awesome vampires. They were immortal, and one of them kept sneaking over to the German trenches at night and massacring a dozen of them for blood. Was an awesome book, wish I could remember the name...

As vampires they are in the decent, its the sparkling and the story those murder them as what they are.
But i cant really say they are that badass, compared to say Alucard from Hellsing.
Case point: Alucard HAS been torn apart, burned, pierced and exploded. And sp far the people of twilight hasnt summoned everybody theyve killed and turned into giant, bloodthirsty, Baskerville´s dog.
Just saying

If Sarah Michelle Gellar ever showed up on Sesame Street, the nation's math-readiness skills would plummet.
