Poll: Modern Warfare 3? Think it will do as well as the previous ones?

I've gotta say no in the vain hope that it wont do well. Though it will, just like Halo: Anniversy, Halo 4, CoD: Black Ops 2, Duke Nukem Forever and Ever, and any old game that Nintendo rehashes and calls a "new game"...

i am getting this game
i hope that the multiplayer is better then Black Ops, I couldnt stand that shit, especially with the COD points
i also hope that the single player is better, because its being going down hill since after WAW
The introduction of Sledgehammer games might actually help it here

It'll do better. Everyone was whinging about Blops before launch, and how sick they were of the CoD series, and even serious analysts were saying that the dismissal of key members of IW would hurt sales compared to MW2, plus competition from MoH and Reach.

We all know how that turned out. Face it: MW2 was a good game, Blops was a good game, and no matter how cool it makes you to say otherwise this game will be a good game too and its sales will be amazing.

I'm not so sure. A lot of people that I know are pretty disillusioned with the series as a whole. It will make a ton of money though. It always does.

Wow, was it? I mean I thought they were both pretty average but thanks for clearing that up. Wouldn't want to wander around with the misconception that subjectivity doesn't exist and I'm privy to the world's truths.

Yeah.

It will do well but hopefully not as well. I doubt BF3 will beat it on sales, unfortunately, but on the merits of the game battlefield looks to be giving MW3 a hell of a beatdown. Who knows, maybe MW3 will be good (hahahahaaa) but it's not very likely. They've been rehashed and shittier versions of CoD4 so far with some decent bits thrown in here and there (including WaW and Blops) but nothing groundbreaking. Nothing...good really, just things which should have been done from day 1 or things which are compromises because what they should do is too expensive for them to consider.

I'll wait till it's out to slam it, I really don't know if it'll be any good. Odds are against it though.

It will do fine, because people are fine with spending 60 bucks for same gameplay over and over again, if developers add new maps and new guns/perks...

Financially, it will probably do better than MW2. Personally, I don't plan on buying it (I'll leave that to my flatmate), but I will happily play the main campaign and the spec-ops if they throw some more in. They were fun and pretty entertaining. Especially if you weren't the one that paid for five hours of story that goes north about three quarters through.

I'm pretty sure It'll sell good. Most likely better than the previous titles.
But i guess we'll see when it hits the shelves.

It'll probably sell a crazy amount of copies regardless of the quality of the game, purely because it's a COD game. However, I lost interest with the series after COD4, that game was the best in the series by far. MW2 was boring, and Black Ops was just plain awful, and any plans to get it for the multiplayer have been crushed by Battlefield 3 imo.

Not that I'm going to buy it, but the kind of people who bought the "sequel" to the fourth game in the series (It was Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, remember?), are probably going to buy the "third" game of the series of the fourth game of the actual series (Call of Duty).

So yes, it will probably sell pretty well, but very few of the people who buy it will car about the campaign, and jut jump straight into Multiplayer (Like wearing make-up and the colours green and brown, I don't dislike Multiplayer and I don't judge people who enjoy it, I just wouldn't do it myself).

A couple of my buds have never been die hard gamers, but they did fall annoyingly into Call of Duty, often talking exclusivly about it for weeks on end, to the point where even I just have to call them fucking nerds. The good news though is that even they, the die hard fans they were, now are realizing just how stale, unbalenced, boring, and unoriginal each game is. They'll buy it probably, but just the general vibe I get with people I know and on the internet is excitement has died down hugely, people are really starting to see how just all around lame the series has gotten

Call of Duty is just a game we're going to have to deal with. Yes, it is always the same nostalgia over and over again, but that could be a good thing. Let's face it, in Call of Duty there are usually a couple of morons in each game (i.e. people who get seriously annoyed by dying or losing a match) who pretty much play the game for a year and then play the sequel. This keeps them happy and people like me happy too, as they stay away from the games I play.

Look people are going to buy this like every other game. "Proper" gamers and I use that term lightly won't buy it as it is the same old same old. By proper gamers I mean most informed games who want a little more out of their game than just a couple more weapons and a graphics update every year. The games wouldn't nearly be as stagnated if they spread out releases.

I go with other.

My opinion is, if its like CoD 4, it should be good (mabey), but if its like MW2 and black ops, god help us all.
