Okay, very simply, which weapon do you use in Monster Hunter Tri and why? Have you tried the other weapons? Do you use a variety of weapons depending on the need? Personally, I use Sword and Shields or Bowguns, depending on whether I want to capture, or cut off a tail or if close-range isn't practical for the monster. Also, I prefer speed over power, which is why weapons like Greatswords and hammers go unused in my game.

what the hell is monster hunter tri?
The newest monster hunter game on the wii. I have never played monster hunter tri (I don't have a wii) But I have played monster hunter freedom (1&2) And I use a greatsword cus it can kill 'preys in one hit and it deals out alot of damage.

For me it isn't about doing massive damage, as much as it is having more opportunities to cause it, and weapons like bowguns and Sns mean I can get off a few quick hits and then move, without having to avoid using attacks because of friendly fire.

from what i read in guides and stuff the greatsword is the easiest to learn to use and often the most used weapon.

Damage isn't the reason Why I picked Great Swords. They look cool

I chosen Sword And Shields (Although I've left this game for quite a while. I blame Mario Galaxy.)

I WAS a Great Sword user. But I was finding it tough goings and read that Sword and Shield is best for newbies. (I haven't played an earlier Monster Hunter unfortunately.)

Great game tho.

I really don't know that much about this game, but from what I've seen and read on all the threads about it here, I might just pick it up. Just wondering though, I saw it say that its 1-2 players, does that mean you can do split-screen co-op without the online or is it just for some random minigame add-on thing?

And what exactly are the differences between all the weapons posted?

I use the lance because horses are for pussies real men use jousting lances on foot.

I use it because I can block just about anything.
