I wasn't using PSN for anything, no information was on it, so I kept it. I mainly play singleplayer and PS2 games on my PS3, so I had no reason to get rid of it.

When the horrible event first happened, a lot of people were threatening to quit Sony products forever, or at least the PS3. There was talk about clearing accounts and selling systems (sometimes smashing). My question of the day is: did you go through with it? Did you have to respond drastically to the drastic situation?

Now, during this whole fiasco is when I got my PS3. I think it's why I could get it for such a low price! Then it was just a matter of using a brand-new ID, password and only buying the PSN cash cards for online purchases. No trail, no mess. I kind of wondered why so many people used their credit cards and real names, to be totally honest.

Maybe we can take a stab at how many Escapists switched over to Microsoft.
Your options are very negatively loaded, theres no "I never intended to switch as I didnt over react" option.

I was never going to switch to Microsoft when the PSN got hacked, I didn't see the point, its not like Sony deliberately set themselves up to be hacked. It was poorly handled and waiting a week to inform us that our person details had been stolen was taking the piss, but that ended up being a minor inconvenience of having to cancel the card that I had registered with them, but nothing that was life altering. Since the attack, I have deleted any card details from my account and every time I want to buy something from the store, I buy PSN cards.

I bought a PS3 around the time online went back up after the whole fiasco. So I don't think I really have a place in that poll.

You need another option on your poll because I never even thought about bailing. Why would I get rid of my ps3 over something that stupid, that isn't even Sony's fault.

I wasn't juvenile enough to make threats about "ditching" the PS3 or PSN. Nor did I actually do so.

I still have my PS3, but I haven't bought anything for it since the attack.

Mostly I'm just pissed at Sony for their handling of the situation, and thinking they could win me back with free copies of Dead Nation and Super Stardust HD. Nope. Got to do better then that Sony.

I did get a 360 but not because of the hack. And all the cross-platform games I plan to purchase will be for the PS3 so no.

I have a Wii and a PC, so it wasn't really an issue for me. It did however prompt me to buy wii points via Wii Points Card, rather than give Nintendo my Credit card number.

Bailing is not the same as punishing. I would bail the internet service simply because it's been proven that the PSN is insecure. I don't put my credit card number where I know it's insecure.

You didn't have to make a choice because you're able to afford all that.

Still makes no sense to me, no online service is 100% secure. Anyone has to have the common sense to know that and either use a secure card for any and all online purchases or only use PSN cards and Microsft Points cards for console marketplace purchases.

The 360 is my primary console anyway, I didn't even know the PSN was down until about a week after. But why would I bail? These things just happen sometimes.

I know you guys were around when this was happening. The poll choices are nothing compared to the shit-throwing that was going on then. There's nothing negative about them.

Quite a few comments went thusly:
"I don't know if I feel safe giving Sony all my info again. I'm going to switch to 360."
No frothing at the mouth, no huge overreacting, but still a threat to switch over. Would "pledge" be a better word for you, or what?

I waited til people started bailing and picked one up cheap to go next to my 360, which I picked up for cheap. Then when PSN came back I put my fucking credit card details into the bastard, because I'm a bad mother fucker who ain't scared of no hacker bullshit.
