Okay my question is based on mainly a fantasy setting. MMO styles of games are always set in the lands of middle earth with elves and all that jazz Warcraft/War/Runes of Magic all have large player bases. So does Diablo 2 and baldur's gate. Warcraft adn everyone has thousands of players per level where Diablo 2 and BG all have a small number of players per game.

In my opinion MO's ar better than MMO's for story - it is more immersive and it is not "pick up 20 of this item" but for PVP MMO's are better - more people more challenge more range of things to do.

I am very sick of grindfest quests and that is why I prefer MO's for fantasy games.

EDIT:
MO = Multiplayer online i.e. a team consisting of only a few Playable characters
MMO = Massively Multiplayer online = hundreds/thousands of people together.

Diablo 2 was not a massive multiplayer because its technology did not support a large number of PC's (playable characters) in the game world. Wow and the others are completely populated by players whereas diablo 2 only had a maximum of 8 per game.

A multiplayer and a massive multiplayer are different because of the number of players.

I'm not sure what "MO" would stand for. "Massively Online"? "Multi-player Online"? I'm not sure what you mean, especially if you bring up the Diablo 2 and Baldur's Gate example.

I put this in the edit - Diablo 2 was not a massive multiplayer because its technology did not support a large number of PC's (playable characters) in the game world. Wow and the others are completely populated by players whereas diablo 2 only had a maximum of 8 per game.

"MO"? Do you mean turn based Roll Playing Games of the (non-japanese) fantasy variety, or do you mean MMO's that are single player such as Pokemon? I'm not really sure what MO means, if MO comes from MMO, then it means more or less the same thing as MMO.

If you mean RPG's, then I perfer those types of games to most MMO's.
EDIT: Why do you consider Baldur's Gate to be a Multiplayer online game? True it had online but only in the form of Co-Op.

Thanks for clearing that up. I'm definitely all for MO's then. Playing Baldur's Gate 2 over LAN with a friend was the best gaming experience I ever had. We played it from when we got back from work until the wee hours. For me it's also important that a game has an ending since I get addicted to games really easily, especially when there's leveling and rare items involved.

I should have taken more time with the opening post - I may have left it too vague - The games mentioned are all RPG's an MORPG and an MMORPG are different, what I meant was I like MORPG's more for story MMORPG's more for PVP
