No, if you didn't like it on the XBOX, aside from the controls it's basically the same.

Unless you're planning on modding it to hell, but honestly, why buy a game just to mod it?

Because mods are the reason the PC version of games will always be better then the console version? They add many, many hours of enjoyment and combined a worth far more then $20.

Ok, I've been convinced. I'll wait a day to see if I get lucky on Steam (probably not, but I can try) but sale or not, it'll be mine by the end of day tomorrow.

The thing about Morrowind is that the gameplay is woefully outdated. Everything else is absolutely amazing. The game is unquestionably worth it, it's just harder to play now that most of its gameplay elements have been highly refined. Your quest list is cumbersome, there's no indication of anything on the map, the hit system is frustrating... it's all pretty good, but really old. But the story, atmosphere, and world are fantastic. I say go for it, and just push through the first bit of gameplay until fighting is actually possible, then it gets a lot better.

EDIT: Also, I've heard there are mods that make the battle system better and the graphics more highly-detailed. I played it on the Xbox, so I don't know, but you may want to check them out.

Pac Man and Super Mario Bros have outdated gameplay too. Doesnt have to be modern to be fun.

Morrowind is outdated to who's standards? Sure there are streamlined RPGs with more handholding yes but this game

Morrowind doesn't have a quest list, it has a journal. Sure you can sort your journal by quest but the vast majority of the time when your playing the game you explore more then you do any quests. The map shows major landmarks, and the hit system is rolled. It sounds like you've never played any other very popular RPGs from around the same time like Kotor which had a very similar system.
