I don't think there's any specific side quests for the characters but there are audio tapes or whatever you find giving you some backstory on each character.
Can you find all the audio logs with every character, or do you only find ones for the character you are playing as?
You can find all audio logs for the characters, but not the one that you have at the beginning of the game that explains why they arrived on Pandora in the first place. That is unique to each character and can be found in your inventory, but only able to be listened to once. So, in order to hear that diary-like audio log, you'll just have to start a new character - or find them on youtube.
Sadly, if you use it at the beginning when you get access to your inventory there is a good chance of the audio being overridden by claptrap's talking.

Also, I don't think dlc characters have audio logs. Gaige has some that were released on youtube but none in-game, and Krieg... well, I don't think he has any. If he does, I would LOVE to hear them. I really want to know more about the woman he screams about when I max out the Hellborn tree.
Since he didn't list Gaige or Kreig in his poll, I assumed he didn't have any of the DLC characters anyway to care about them. As far as I can recall, I couldn't find any Kreig audiologs online either annoyingly. I think his trade off was to have a trailer instead, since Gaige didn't get one. If you've seen it, it's hinted at that the woman he mentions is actually Maya, or maybe a past wife or something before his experimentation.

One thing BL2 really needs is some unique plot points and dialogues for each character to flesh them out a little. For example, even if you're playing as Maya or Gaige, quite a few characters still refer to you as a "he". And when you run into Lillith as Maya, that fact that you're a siren, the very people Lillith is searching for, goes completely unnoticed. It would have been even better if Jack had individual dialogues for each character - especially Salvador, since he actually personally wronged him and caused issues for Jack.

Something like this would make BL even better than it is.
I mentioned dlc characters just in case he considered buying it... and I like talking about Krieg.

I agree, even just generic reactions to the plot would be nice. Anything to show the characters are aware of things outside of shooting, menu navigation and boredom.

Krieg was very talkative when I was playing as a hellborn focused psycho, it really made me curious about his backstory.
That's the reason I love Gaige most as well, she's incredibly talkative when using DeathTrap and with the Anarchy skill. Especially when she gets a god complex or even breaks the fourth wall.

"You're breaking the game!!"

- Zero, the ninja guy, can cloak? Sounds like the pick of the bunch so far. Is he viable to play solo?

Are there any other differences between classes? Can all classes use all weapons and items?
Zer0 is excellent in solo play. I've beaten all three playthroughs with him (first is easy, second is somewhat hard, third is retardedly difficult unless you are spec'd exactly right). You can't go in guns a blazing with him though. He's by far the squishiest character but he's also the most tactical due to his cloak. He's a lot of fun to play because there are several great ways to build him:
Sniper -great on the first playthrough but less successful on the harder ones.
Closeish Ranged Weapons Using Middle Tree -this is what I've used to beat all three playthroughs.
Melee -by far the most fun and rewarding IMO. The only problem is it takes a while to get all the necessary gear to make it work. Once you have it though, it's crazy powerful (powerful enough that some people have just beaten to death the most powerful bosses that are designed for multiple players).

As far as which classes can use which weapons, everyone can use any weapons and do well with it. Gunzerker (you can make him a tank but a damage build is way better IMO and makes raid bosses a cake walk) has some abilities that buff pistols but you can easily use any weapons with him.
Zer0 is one of the few Vault Hunters who has a tree that's dedicated to one weapon. His left tree is all about sniping (although you can and should dip into it because a lot of the skills benefit all guns).
The Siren can also use any weapon quite well. Her best specialization would be SMGs though since they tend to be the best elemental weapons and that's kind of her thing. Her phase lock works on all of the normal enemies I think and most of the bosses (but not any huge ones).
The Soldier is great as an all-arounder but he's best built to do explosive damage. That means finding any weapons that have explosive shots.

Hope this helped!

I never got into Zer0, but from what I'm told if you do anything but sniper build he scales horribly into True/Ultimate Vault Hunter mode.
Quite the contrary, he scales incredibly well into True/Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode as long as he DOESN'T build around sniping (okay you can get away with it in TVHM but definitely not in UVHM). This is because snipers are just not very good in this game. They just can't do enough damage on the later playthroughs. The key things for doing well in the later playthroughs is specing his middle tree because Death Blossom is insanely powerful. A full load of kunai will kill pretty much any non-boss enemy. I personally like to play him as a shotgun/SMG ninja and throw kunai at a bunch of enemies, watch them get slagged and marked for death and then open fire on them all, killing them very quickly.
Melee is also extremely powerful in the later playthroughs since you can use the Evicerating Rubi (heals you for 12% of ALL damage you do) in combination with the Love Thumper (very powerful roid shield) or the Hide of Terramorphous. You can effectively tank just about any enemy because each hit brings you back to full health. Also, a common mistake with people who make melee Zer0 is specing to the bottom of his bloodshed tree first. His middle tree is so much better becuase of the kunai. They are buffed off of roid damage so they can do even more damage. Plus, it allows you to basically burst two enemies down per activation of his cloak. The key is to make sure you have a clear strategy in getting to cover after you reappear. If you plan your path through the battle, there is really no situation you can't overcome with him.
Here's a video of a guy beating the shit of Voracidous (widely agreed to be the hardest boss) on UVHM:
I think that puts to rest the common complaint people have of Zer0 being too weak on UVHM. If anything, he's the strongest since the guy didn't have to abuse Shamfleet to solo Voracidous.

I noticed that tree didn't have any points in Money Shot...

Do you even 'Zerk?
Is there really much point if it's a pistol build like I use? I could understand if it was a shotgun build or if I was using guns with small clips, but I use Vladofs and they have pretty large mags.

- The Chick phase thingy can just stun a single enemy as I understand it. Is that all she does? Does it work on all enemies, including bosses? Sounds potentially OP, which I'm fine with.
It doesn't work on all enemies. As a general rule, it won't work on big bosses or "massive" enemies. But any enemy it doesn't work on it will damage instead, so it's always worth trying.

The phaselock skill becomes more fun when you augment it. When my siren phaselocks an enemy, nearby enemies are pulled towards the phaselocked one (to make a nice little huddle for my incendiary SMG) and instead of locking the victim in place it makes him attack his friends. If the phaselocked guy dies before the timer runs out, the lock bounces to a new enemy and the fun continues.

As with the first Borderlands, the Siren class is slightly over-powered and very good for solo.

Are there class specific side-missions? Story content? Dialogue? If so, which class would you say has the best?
All classes can use all weapons grenades and shields, but class mods are class-specific. Class mods can do things like increase your damage with a particular weapon/manufacturer, make your shield recharge faster, etc. You can only have one equipped at once, so they don't make a massive different to the game. The weapon-related ones tend to buff whatever weapon the class is most "associated" with (sniper riles for Zero, SMGs for the Siren, etc.). The shield/grenade-related ones tend to have equivalents available for every class.

Which class you pick makes no difference to the story, dialogue or missions.
