This thread is not who had the most groundbreaking rock song of all time or am I saying these are the most groundbreaking rock songs ever. The topic is out these tracks which are the most groundbreaking for rock music?

I can't understand what you're saying, so I voted The End since it's one of the finest songs ever recorded.

Why? Besides, all those songs suck.

Some good selections here, though I wouldn't necessarily say that these featurethe most groundbreaking. I choose "Who are the Brain Police" just because it was so different, though there are plenty of Zappa songs that are much better.

Venus in Furs? Isn't that a Monster Magnet song? It's not even off one of their earlier albums when they were still an actual stoner rock band too. Man, your selection of songs on here sucks.

A great rock breaking song should be viewers choice.

Not a list =p

Asking us what is the best out of your opinion of music is not a very idea.

Meh, I reckon its a good selection of songs, I went for Venus In Furs as The Velvet Underground is my favourite band ever but it was damn close between that and The End. I wish more people would learn that music doesn't revolve around metal.

Many of these songs I agree helped form Modern Rock and Pop Music. Why are you guys getting on this dude case? I am puzzled why "Paint it Black" is being selected. Everyone knows it's a cop of the Beatles "Norwegian Wood". My choice is "Tomorrow Never Knows" by the Beatles if you guys needed to be pointed out who it?s from. The song is built around looped effects around a rocking repeating bass and a breakbeat drum style. Kraftwerk to the Chemical Brothers are in indebted to this track. If this was a Progressive Rock forum they would be laughing at the responses here.

I've been listening to this old vinyl version of Paint it black all day [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7AKzp8F9FuY], so maybe I'm biased. . .
