I actually love moths, they are my favourite animal (if you count insects as animals along with snakes.

There are quite beautiful specimens, they don't bite or sting.....and for some reason, they like me. I've had at least three incidents in which a moth landed on my shoulder and stayed there for 20 minutes.
Recently, I also had a giant moth land on my leg....it was so incredibly plushy (the moth, not my leg). Adorable.
The thing with moths, is that their furriness isn't cute.

It's great if you don't know any better, but the scales on their wings and their hair is designed to flake off when it's aggravated, causing irritation. You don't want any of that crap in your eyes, I'm telling you.

Fuck those bastards.

I would rather burn alive inside my oven of a room than let them in.

I don't mind moths, Mum freaks out around big ones. Mosquitoes annoy me more, biting, causing itches..... eugh.

Also, I live in Tasmania, and being a bit of a bushwalker, I've had at least 3 close encounters with these guys.

One of those encouters I almost stepped on it. Not. Cool.
Getting paralyzed is not of my list of things I want to do before I die.

Cute/silly looking spiders and moths aside, I don't get all the hate.
Especially spiders solve more problems than they cause. (unless they're poisonous)

A moth can no more harm you than you can tear the jaw from God himself. I cannot fathom how one could be frightened by a being a feeble as a scrap of paper, that would fly into the heart of the sun, had it the ability. They aren't even particularly bothersome, they mostly just lounge around and molest light globes.

Fucking moths......I think the most I've had in my room is around 10 or so one night. Big ones, small ones, some as big as your head. And no matter how many you kill they just....keep.....coming.

Seriously, they're the one reason I don't squish spiders when I see them. I figure the spiders might eat the moths....but I still see the moths. Therefore the spiders must be failing.....fucking spiders.

It's not about being frightened. It's about being pissed off when there's a bunch of them flying around casting annoying shadowed everywhere and flying into your face. I swear, those fucking thing AIM for our faces!

I don't particularly hate moths. They are the least annoying of the insect species where I live. Really, they don't even register among the likes of mosquitoes, black flies, deer flies, no-see-ums, horse flies, wasps, brown flies(yet another biting fly species), deer ticks, wood ticks, and black ticks. However, mankind has this amazing new invention called a window screen, which keeps these demon tricksters out of our homes.

Spiders crawling on my face? Whatever, flick that sucker away.
A moth within 5 meters? I fucking panic.

....Are you my neighbor? Yeah, all of those suck. Horse flies are freaky as shit. They are so loud. Mosquitoes are easy to kill, but they are legion. No-see-ums...there's only one way to "beat" them, and that's to ignore them and hope you some how get acclimated to the itching (they were a big home-field advantage in baseball, though. Visiting teams weren't used to them so you'd always look over in the other dugout and see the other team's players in a desperate struggle to stop the tiny little bugs).

Ticks are pretty rare, unless you don't give your dog or cat a treatment. Wasps, yellow jackets, and bees used to target me as a kid, so I hate them. I always enjoy destroying their nests with a pressure washer on full blast. One you missed: Red bugs. I never had a problem with them somehow, despite the fact that I spent countless hours as a kid camping and walking around the big forest behind my house. My best friend growing up would get them every damn time he visited, though.

We've got some pretty nice weather here at the moment (for Britain anyway. It hasn't rained in a few days and people are starting to get withdrawal symptoms), so of course the windows are open to get some air in. There's just one problem with this. It is a problem that has plagued mankind for centuries, a problem that can drive a man to the edge of reason; MOTHS!

[sub]You are everything that's wrong in this godless universe[/sub]

I must have had at least ten of the bastards in my room this evening! WHY?! Why won't you leave me alone, you winged hell spawns?! What have I done to deserve such torment?!

[sub]WORSE THAN HITLER[/sub]

I can't be the only one surely? Does anyone else have a deep, burning, almost bordering on psychotic hatred of these cocky little bastards as much as I do? I say we rise up and teach these fuckers once and for all, who's with me?!

[sub]Look at this smug prick. Just wait until I wipe that smirk off your face[/sub]
[sub][sub]Also, who copyrights a moth? A Dale, you just made my list![/sub][/sub]

You couldn't pay me enough money to make me hold moths like that in my hands. Maybe a huge amount of drugs would allow me to, but good god they just make my skin crawl.

I also hate how erratically moths behave, I wouldn't mind them so much if I could tell when they were flying at me, but they just fly like one of their wings is on 50% thrust and the other on 200% thrust, it's like they're trying to piss you off. They refuse to get the fuck off my monitor/TV at night too, stubborn light hogging bastards.

What's wrong with moths? They're fascinating creatures... Never really bothers me that much unless they're flying all over my bedroom. I'd much rather share a room with a few moths than I would one wasp, centipede, or scorpion or fly - they can't hurt you, although sometimes their hairs will detach and irritate the eyes or skin.

As long as moths don't fly around my face, then I don't mind. But that's a general rule. If a fly, or a bee, or a cupcake, or a ladybird, or anything flies around my face, I try to swat at it. I just don't like the thought of bugs touching my face.

(...or cupcakes.)

[Edit]: For those of you wondering. Yes. I like to eat cupcakes. Just not with my entire face. Cursed flying cupcakes!
