I've noticed a lot of threads recently about the pros and cons of pc gaming as apposed to consoles, They're easier, (simplicity will ALWAYS rule. /thread it's that simple)
recently the humming over a new wii being announced at E3 has given me the inkling to trade in my wii before the price drop. I have a TON of games that I love on my Wii but ALL of them work perfectly on my dolphin emulator for my PC. So i've been thinking of a reason to keep my wii and the only one has been the motion controls, that awesome system that while it isnt as accurate as a mouse and keyboard or even a traditional gamepad. Still adds a new dimension to the entertainment if done right.

So i thought about getting move with the cash from my wii but then I remembered; Sixense!
I game predominately on my PC, I can emulate my Wii games, Sixense is apparently the best motion controller out there. so why not wait for that to come along? (whenever the hell that'll be)

So the reason for this thread is to raise the awareness of this device for the Escapist community. It's something to think about when you bash PC gaming. and trust me I am in NO way a PC elitist! I game on alienware! PC gamers probably hate me the most haha!

I just love the idea of being able to add motion control to EVERY pc game ever made. and using my Wii games with it too! THAT'S awesome. love it or hate it; more options are always a plus.

Thanks for reading my moderately relevant point of view! But what do you think?

No...... Apart from anything else PCs (generally) have smaller screens than big ass TVs for consoles. That would make using motion controls reeeeally hard.

Yes I'm aware that you can plug PCs into TVs nowadays.

The computer is a very stationary system. Unlike the wii, and sometimes consoles like PS3 and Xbox360, it isn't meant to be hauled around to parties and such where motion games are embraced. (I understand motion games aren't specifically for parties) The computer is also usually in a confined space or something of that nature, limiting cpabilities to play with a wii-mote-like controller. All the same, the PC is more that capable of doing so, however not all that practical

As much as I love PCs, I must say even when they come out like awesome things like the Razer thingy, I'd go for the Wii as a party system.

I'd go for a Wii as a party thing. No way I'd let any of my drunken arsehole mates touch my 'puter if they'd been on the piss. Wii? Pffft. Wouldn't give a shit if one of them spewed on it then tried to wash it in the sink.

well for myself I have an M11x. plug that into my Tv with an HDMI cable in the living room and you've already got something that's more portable than the wii. You're right on the party front though. I don't know if you can do multiplayer with dolphin but that would solve that problem if you can...

it would appear it IS possible but only in spain haha. but I wouldn't count on it over the wii of course.

Well i'm convinced. trading the wii tomorrow.

I don't give a shit about motion controls. When I play games I want to sit in my comfy chair and move as little as possible. Motion controlled gaming is the opposite of how I like to relax with some vidya.
Besides that, the only valid use I've ever found for motion controls is playing raving rabbits when I'm with a few mates and we're all drunk off our asses. Nobody is going near my pc in that state except me, and when I'm drunk off my ass and alone I prefer the comfy chair again.
