Poll: Moving avatars

Yeah, I like moving avatars. They add more life to the screen IMO. I make all of them myself, so they aren't brilliant, but I think they do the job well enough.

I like them but I'm getting sick and tired of that fucking Lady Gaga/Jim Carrey one. It's not funny, it's not unique and it's not doing anything but making me despise anyone wearing it.

Dude, calm down. It's just a moving picture, and we're only wearing it as a favour to a guy for his birthday.

That's all well and good, but it's annoying as piss to scroll down a thread and see it on ten different people, and I don't think I'd be too far off the mark if I said that part of the reason is also to see what sort of forum reaction you'd get.

Actually I don't know what the initial reason for doing this was. I was asked to do this, and so I did.
I guess I can see your point about it being annoying, I just thought you worded it pretty strongly.

Anyway, all the avatars will be back to normal by tomorrow.

I enjoy them. I have a pretty bland one, just a clip from a movie. The really good ones are the ones who do something clever. For instance: That avatar that starts as that red X that comes up when you can't see a picture, and then a girl I believe, shoves it aside.

The worst ones are those who blink too much.

I'm keepin' it oldskool. But moving avatars are generally pretty cool and deffinately more visually engaging.

I usually don't mind them. I just don't use them often, unless it's something simple, and the animation is short.

I like them, some of ones I've seen are really hypnotizing. I just started using one recently myself, although I'll probably go back to a still avy soon.

Some of them are interesting, some of them are bloody distracting and annoying, and some are... oddly hypnotizing and you realize you've just spent 5 minutes of your life staring at a moving picture... wait, what was I doing again?

On the whole, I think I prefer my regular non-animated one, if only for all the messages I get asking me what it says, heh.

Your avatar brings back bad memories of fleeing slimes. The endlessly fleeing metal slimes.

OT:I like mine, i dislike the flashing or blinking ones, its why i asked for mine in slow mo. To have a subtle less distracting movement.
