Though I say "mom" when I want someone to know, when I still need a moment.

Though it's not really applicable to my native tounge, but since english isn't my first language, my english tend to be somewhat flavoured of both british and american regional terminology and slang.

I say mum. I thought the American way is to say mom but maybe that's just accents.

No your right, i've never met an American that says mum.
