I was inspired by Wardog13 post to make one about the Cars the Planes Inspried. Pics are bellow If you don't know the cars.

I hope I don't get to much greef for making a car thread.

The etymology of Spitfire is interesting actually. When Drake and Rielly were battling the Armada, they captured a galleon whose name, translated, was the Excrete Fire. English sensibilities being what they are, it was renamed the Spitfire.

It's hard to choose between the cars though, very hard indeed.

In which case, Supermarine Spitfire.
born in the same place as the hovercraft.
