I did play it over at a friends house, and I firmly concluded that I wasn't missing anything good.

I'll stick with WAW and MW. Much better, and actually function properly on PC.

Exactly my story. And how is not wanting to buy a shitty gimped game a boycott? If I don't buy heroin am I boycotting it?

Modern Warfare 2 is the greatest game for now, maybe in the future when theres virtual sex, there will be a better game= concluson: buy it or you will miss a milestone for gaming history

I was looking forward to it till I heard about the no servers. I then didn't buy it, told everyone I knew not to buy it (they did buy it), then didn't care as it came out. Now everyone I know who got it has gone back to CoD4.

Never boycotted it, although I didn't at the time think that no dedicated servers was THAT big of a deal. Boy was I ever wrong....

Not just Dedi servers that were removed, you can also consult post 21 if you do so wish to see a summary of the major things that caused the outrage. That's not all of them, but it sums it up nicely.

Actually no, we will do just fine. We didn't miss a whole lot, and if you're a PC gamer you will be glad you missed it, to a degree.

I bought it but truth be told I'm slowly growing sick of the game and I'm planning to return it someday. I also found myself having a lot more fun on Call of Duty 4.

I thought people had got over how "bad" Modern Warfare 2 is and stopped caring? Activision certainly don't, not after all that $£ whatever else in the millions they got.

I'd really have to disagree with that on the most part. All I've ever heard PC gamers do when something gets changed is whine and *****. I'm a PC / console gamer myself and lack of dedicated servers is really something that I wasn't bothered about in the slightest, and even if it did bother me I wouldn't refuse to buy the game because of it.

Maybe it's just me being a dick, but PC gamers are the spoiled kids of gaming who need a good smack round the head to finally shut them up.

Well guys, it's been 103 days since MW2 release (counting today).

Who did not cave in to the pressure of the games release. As in who kept their promises to themselves in the end.

I never said I wouldn't buy it, but I still felt dirty for buying it, and then to find it's pretty much just Cod 4 again for an extra $100? I'm trading it in for Bad Company II when it comes out.

I did so because all my friends had it and we could play together against randoms.

I didn't buy it until last month, I saw it for $30 and didn't want to pass up on my chance to get it, even then by now I'm sure the boycott doesn't have much effect (especially considering it made what a billion dollars?).

Edit: I do think I got my $30 out of it though. That's much more than I can say for the $45 I spent on Bioshock 2 though...
Also the transition really wasn't that bad for me since I had MW1 for the 360.

Actually PC gamers are not the spoiled kids in gaming you are just going by the elitist stereotype by this logic console players are the PC gamer's slow little brother that can't understand a server browser which anyone with half a brain knows both stereotypes are a load of crap in the broader spectrum. Fair enough for you if lack of content that is standard in PC wasn't a big deal but a lot more than dedicated servers was cut.

Also I would like atleast 3 examples where PC gamers complained that something wasn't included or done that wasn't a down grade from a previous system already in place that is superior. You can complain about PC gamers whining which did happen but the amount of bile that poured out of obvious twats who knew nothing about PC gaming at the time was astonishing to say the least. There is much more than just certain vocal groups of PC that need a good smack.

Err I know nothing of a boycot, but no I didn't get it. Just doesn't interest me in the least. I tried it once but I don't know, I generally dislike playing online against complete strangers, they tend to be arseholes and make me lose faith in humanity.

At one point, I was ALMOST tempted to buy it, ALMOST.
But I resisted and I feel like a much better/purer person for it.
