Hey all, I'm sure there are posts like this already, but I'd like to know everyone's opinion. I, personally find the price point here a major detractor, I mean... 3 original maps, and 2 remakes shouldn't cost $15, and I think naming it the "Stimulus Pack" is particularly cynical. Who are we stimulating? (Activision, thats who...). The problem with sticking to a principal on this one is that I know most of the guys I play with already have the pack, and if I don't get it I'm "that guy".... So, being the codependent weirdo I am (and since my wife won't offer an opinion on this one) what do you all think?

I'm going to buy it because MW2 is one of the few games I play with my friends, sort of like how I bought the packs for World at War. I wouldn't buy it on my own initiative, though.

If you don't want the maps, then don't buy them. Stop making threads crying about $15. If that much money completely breaks your bank, you have much larger concerns than a MW2 map pack. Being unemployed, for example.

Someday people will realize that there's a difference between not paying a price because you can't afford it, and not paying a price based on principle.

I would;

A: Like to say I agree with your post.

B: Like to say I think your avatar is pretty great.

OT: Meh, I don't play Modern Warfare 2 enough to pay 15 bucks for more (almost certainly unbalanced) maps. So, I think it's a little bit much to ask.

it isn't a question of not having the money, its fact that $15 is 1/4 the cost of the game (well, actually 1/9ish - Prestige edition of course), and I find that a bit extortive, in a time when the economy is in the crapper.

If your idea of "sticking it to the man", the "man" being the multi-billion dollar corporation Activision in this case, by withholding a measly $15 from them, you are a bigger fool than I thought.

I sold the game, so no.

Even if I had it, I wouldn't shell out $15 for 3 new maps (which are bound to be awful) and 2 old ones.

Sorry, I'm basically rich and, while the horrid lag is kinda annoying, I like the game anyway. So...yeah. *shrugs*

I like how many assumptions you make there MetallicaRulez0, for example, I never said I was unemployed (I have a job), and no one said anything about sticking it to the man, I know activision won't notice if I don't by the map pack, but choosing to not buy it because its price point is excessive is still sticking to a principal

I would like to see some DLC that also expands the weapon choice or maybe some new perks. The magpul PDR and the classic MP5 to expand the submachine gun selection and maybe the rifle variant of the British service rifle. (To lazy to find the name and the designation escapes me.)

You're acting like a bit of an ass. It's called "Principles" you don't buy something if it conflicts with your views.

$15 for 5 maps is pathetic. Hey how many Free maps did Treyarch give us? Oh yeah. All of them. Love you guys!

You're right, what was I thinking? Trying to think for myself - I should just bow down before Activision's bottom-dollar and submit to its will. Must... overpay... for maps...

Now that you've corrected my way of thinking, I'm going to go get that brand-new Camaro I want, and I'm going to pay sticker-price. I didn't realize that by NOT forking over my money, it automatically implied that I was somehow trying to "stick it" to Chevy.

I'd try to find something in common with you (I too love Metallica), but I'm guessing you got into them because your 10 other friends liked them first...

I'd be more interested if IW would do something about all the rampant fucking cheating instead of releasing a shitty little map pack.

I play PC so we will get jipped for at least 1 month in which time they will either lower or remove the price most likely.
I would pay for it due to the fact that I play it and enjoy it and see it fit for the investment.

amen Ganthrinor! I like killing team mates who try to glitch, I know, thats a Delta hotel thing to do, but it ruins the game for everyone and I'd rather not sacrifice principals to win a round (those damned principals again... lol)

I'm not getting them mainly because I don't like COD, but if I did like COD, I still wouldn't buy them. Activision are just charging more because they can get away with it, I'm not getting raped for my money no matter how little the amount by principle. They've probably realized by now that they can charge that little bit extra and still get away with it, and when other companies start to notice that, all DLC will be £12, and games will be retailed at £45 instead of £40.

If that does happen, I'll sell my Xbox and use the money to buy more PC parts.

Don't be silly.

People do want the maps. They just don't feel the high price is justified for them.

This over-simplified argument always anoys me.
