Poll: MW3 or Battlefield 3?

Without a doubt these are the two biggest games coming out this fall, and will undoubtedly have the highest sales numbers. Incidentally, they are also distributed by two companies who not only rival with each other for the biggest publisher title but also rivals for the biggest douchebag title. I loved Modern Warfare and thought Modern Warfare 2 was great if you could overlook nonsense story, but at the same time many an hour has been spent on my friend's PS3 playing Battlefield Bad Company and Battlefield 2. If I had the money I would have undoubtedly bought both. This year I'll probably only have enough time/money to buy one, and I'm very torn as to which I should get.

I also have another problem, both of the companies publishing these games are chalk full of dumbasses and douchebags. I hate both with a fiery passion - I generally refuse to buy any product that bares Activisions logo and the only reason I bought Mass Effect was because my blatant Bioware fanboyism overrides any hate for anything attatched to Bioware's name. Problem here is, I don't love Infinity Ward or DICE enough to overlook the publisher I'm forking money to, but I still want a good, frantic, mindless shooty time sink to occupy my dreaded between-sport time that fills the winter months.

TL;DR - Which big name shooter will you buy come this fall, which one should I buy and why? Or should I just say fuck them both all together and shovel even more hours into Skyrim which I will buy even if it punches me in the face upon removing it from the wrap?

Battlefield 3, on PC.

I'm getting Skyirm too though, I mean, hell.
I've got to justify upgrading for something, right? And if it's upgrading for two things, then hell yeah.

I'll get MW3 when its price has lowered. I enjoyed the last one, but not enough to pay full price for it.

I would only decide until after they come out and wait a bit to see how the games community develops. I left COD after all the 10 years found out how the mic worked.

Both Battlefield 3 and Skyrim for me, I can't bring myself to pay for another CoD for a bit. I didn't much enjoy BlOps, but who knows, I may dish out the money once more info is released.

Well, thankfully my job pays enough to support my expensive video game habit (and it is expensive in Australia), so I'm planning on getting all three.

If I was gonna choose one... difficult. I'd flip a coin between BF3 and MW3.

Well since I can get the same experience out of COD with a COD in two years, I will lean towards Battlefield in PC. However I'm more interested in BRINK at the moment, despite what ppl say I'm intrigued by the unique art style and gameplay. If like the last MW I can require it through people giving me it for free, i will play it.

Wait and see, but I'll probably stick to BC2 and Blops for a while. It's not like the gameplay changes so much that it warrants buying a new one every year or so. Heck, look at how many people still enjoy BF2 and CoD4...
Also, Skyrim!

Battlefield 3 all the way. I'll take 64 players, destructible environments, and player controlled vehicles over CoD any day.

The only way I would buy MW3 is if a version came out for the NGP.

Skyrim's looking pretty good though too.

Battlefield 3 definatly. Battlefield 2 was extrmeley fun just by the size of the online battles. ( not bad company, bad company wasn't that fun.)

Also you shouldnt have put skyrim in the poll.....thats REALLY gonna throw it off.
Btw, I'd rather have skyrim of the 3 but Battlefield>COD any day.

BF3.

The CoD franchise has been letting me down the last couple of installments and I keep falling for it.
BF has given me awesome gaming experiences lately. And man, does BF3 look good.

Oh yeah, also Skyrim.

BF3. I had a dude tell me the other day that MW is better because it sold more. His logic made me want to pick up a bible, and slap him with it.

Seriously?

You ask that here?

You might aswell make a the poll say

'internet access' 'no internet access' and 'potatoes'.

You'd probably get an equal level of bias on the results.
True, but Call of Duty is the most played game for Escapists according to the Top Games thing in the community section on Xbox360 and PS3, so I thought maybe they would vote but not comment? Or maybe I was just being naive. EA also seems to be recieving just as much hate as Activision lately, so maybe I thought that would affect things. Again, probably being naive.

Best. Comment. Ever. Congradulatory internet handshake, sir.

It's never as fun when Activision do it. If it was a Treyarch COD, I would probably get it, but of the two I will be going for BF.
Also I think it's hilarious that people buy games based on their opinion of dev teams they haven't met a single member of, I personally buy games for my amusement, as opposed to some sort of pretentious support/embargo of a company... maybe its a post-puberty thing...

note: sorry OP, it was a good question, but you came off as a bit of an idiot with the aside about publishers, and you misspelt douchebags which is such an etymological nightmare that no-one should be allowed near it.

P.S. also it's Chock not chalk full, it's from the idiom Chock a Block, which in itself is a mistranslation of choc-a-bloc, a nautical term for pulleys, blocks and tackle.

Battlefield 3 has stolen my heart already. It looks generic and boring... but so, so pretty. I'm also prepared to give little pieces of my soul to a developer who gives me a nice destruction physics engine.
