Poll: Naming inanimate objects?

I named my two airsoft guns "Kolchak" and "Lila". They like to hurt people.
I named my xbox Sampson because I knocked it over and it continued to work.

Also, My car is called Cleo (Its a renault Clio)

My appartment is named "The Compound" My Guitar is named "Rufus" (after bill and ted), my car was named "The Sea Slut" after dave brockies van, and a certain part of my anatomy is named "The Tri-force"

I named my old car the Tortoise. It was a Taurus with a transmission that got progressively worse which means its top speed would get lower and lower until I could barely get it up to 45.

My computer is commonly referred to as "That fucking old piece of shit." So on occasion I do name things.

I may have to downgrade my computer just so I can start using that

Yes, also my friend does it too. Her good computer is called betty and the old bad one is William, my computer is Andy.

Oh and also i named a Tire Iron Susan, dont ask why.

Do you name some of your everyday items? or is it just silly?

For example.
my guitars are called "hoffman", "cruise" and "encore",
and my car is called "weasle".

Oh yeah I do it all the time

I My HD recorder is called boxy, cause it well it is a box and is easier to say than HD recorder
My 3 computers, Judith, Gaz and Tia but i havent given my 360 a name yet, not sure why....also have to name my camera aswell but havent got around to it

-when it broke down and was fixed, I renamed it (currently) "Karloff"

*Desktop Computer is named "the Late Tobias Funke" because it had a bright blue light, and 'Late' in the prefix cos it died and I havent fixed it yet.

*Laptop is named "DHARMA PORTABLE COMPUTER" because I was on a LOST binge when I bought it
*TV is named "Stumbles" cos it fell on me once and my girlfriend thought it was hilarious
*iPod is named "Calvin"
*my phone is named "Hobbes"

*my 1TB External HDD is named "H.A.L. 18000"
*and I call my coffee maker Steve, because I hate that thing and that name seems appropriate

I usually only name things that have a deep emotional connection with me. Prior to that I talk to things like my computer or car.

Things that I either hate or love (or both) sometimes gets name.

For example, all my computers in my network have names, rather than descriptions. A friend of mine does descriptive names, while I give names in reference to their use from the fellowship of the ring.

At the last place I worked, a 'reclaimed' timber yard I named the chainsaw that I used Mr. Chainsaw, one of the forklifts became Mr. Forklift, and we had this chunk of 12x12 with all kinds of nails and pipes and staples and screws and other metal shit in it and it looked like it had a face so I dubbed him Mr. Bad Hardware Totem and nailed him to my work area.

I did this to enough stuff while I worked there that one pay period my boss wrote Mr. Paycheck on the envelope my check came in.
