Yes. It seems like its a fun kind of thing, though I said that with the Wii.

But seeing how I am pretty much an Xbox fanboy, it seems to have more appeal.

Plus, I can finally get a work out from doing something that's actually entertainment.

(And, Bungie has confirmed Halo: Reach will have some Natal functionality. Yay!)
after Senor Spielgbergs awesome intro on the G4tv special "E3'09" of the natal project i truely thought pigs could fly...owning the new and improve Xbox "natal" project along w/ the newest editon to the Halo series would have me flying to the nearest gamestop in a pigs-flash

XBOX "NATAL" PROJECT + HALO: REACH = ME IN A PIGS-FLASH xD

Probably not, I mean it's gonna have to really surprise me or be really inexpensive for me to buy it.

I'm not going to bother for a number of reasons.

1) As with most doohickies at launch, it's going to have major bugs. Same reason I didn't get a Wii, PS3, or 360 when they first came out.

2) I already have a Wii and am thoroughly unimpressed with the entire gimmick. Unless Natal has a Silent Hill or Resident Evil game attached to it (like the Wii, tee-hee), I won't bother. Or if it has an exercise game. I dig exercise games.

The entire 'you're writing this off too fast' schtick some of you are coming up with is horrifically optimistic. Sounds all too similar to what the Wii-supporters said pre-launch.

Short Answer: Unlikely

Long Answer: After getting a Wii and becoming incredibly indifferent to motion controls after a month, I honestly don't see myself getting this. Maybe if the games look interesting and the price isn't too steep, I'll try it.

Basically this. I don't own a 360, and even if I did waving my arms around like a traffic warden siting in for broken traffic lights isn't doesn't sound appealing to me. Unless you're holding a sword and dicing people apart. But I could just do that on the PS3s new version of motion control if I wanted to.

No, I'm not gonna buy it unless I stumble over it and find it a good experience beforehand.

It doesn't excite me.

People are too quick to write it of as a party game. I think hybrid gameplay can be really cool if done well.
Well, given the examples on the market right now, you can't really blame them. Motion control seems only pratical for Wii-like party games. It will only be used in games like Halo in the same way that, to use an example I know of, how SIXAXIS is used in Killzone 2; turning valves to open some doors or placing and setting explosives. Which is not a bad thing but it's also not much different from what we already have and untimately just a gimmick.

I believe it when I see it. A truly immersive motion controller, that is.
I agree...If it lives up to expectations without becoming gimmicky, I'll buy it

I don't know. Very few people have actually tried Natal. We don't know how refined it is, could be the smoothest thing in the world for all we know. And if given to the right developers it could spawn games that are enjoyable for everyone, "hardcore" crowd included.

We should wait for more information/release before we take a stance. Until then, I'm sorta hopeful. And on a side note, who said casual games can't be fun? :p

Hell no. I like the 360 because I can sit quietly and shoot stuff. If I want to bounce around like an idiot I'll go play outside or buy a Wii. It goes against the reason I got an Xbox!

Seems more for younger kids. Or people who like shiny things.
So, you then. Sim[ply because you obviously like shiny things. You do have a robot with a 'shiny metal ass' as your avatar, after all...

I kid, I kid. But yeah, I'll probably get Natal myself if I can afford it. It all depends. I reckon that with the right approcah it could well revolutionise gaming, though it will have to be handled carefully to avoid the route of the Wii. But given that various developers have already said they'll be designing games, hardcore games, that will use the Natal interface, then there shouldn't be a lot to worry about. So yeah, if I can, I'll probably get it.

As Yahtzee said its another gimmick for casual gamers!

If i wanted sensors I would have a Wii. I just want a controller and some kick ass games!

"Casual" games can be fun and certainly have entertainment value in their own right and full body motion control would certainly be as well, but there still seem to me to be some restrictions for it to be fully used in FPS's, 3rdPS's, RPG's and the like. Things like moving around without making the person walk on the spot and mapping all the actions associated with buttons to actions someone can do, even when the game gets hectic, and pick up all these actions. Not to mention the fact that most people don't want to jump around in front of their TVs for hours on end. So I think it'll end up being used in certain parts, essentially mini games within these types of games, much like current motion control works now. Still a bit of fun and could add to the game, but not a huge step up from what we have. ((A bit OT: To be honest, I don't think we need to step up. Controllers work perfectly fine for these games. How about finding ways to upgrade them?))

But you're right. Natal's not out yet and, to be fair, it could very well be a great thing and developers might find some cool things to do with it. Current evidence and experiences tell me otherwise, but we'll have to wait and see.

I am going to play the wait and see game. If they come out with good games for it then I will. If it becomes a way to sell mini game collections and other assorted shovelware with no substance than I won't.

I don't want to spoil anything for anybody (I seriously don't, I still think it can be a great thing), but why would Microsoft do it any different than Nintendo? The fucking Wii prints fucking money, same for the DS. It's no miracle the other companies want a share, too, so they'll most probably go the same road.

But all of this motion-sensor stuff is going to fail the moment we plug our game systems directly into our brains. We're getting closer (already attaching them to the body, eh Nintendo?),
